    mga katanungan.......... sensya na :D

    1) What the hell is a "Dean's Bar"?

    2) Whats the diff between a 25MHz Rx vs 40MHz?

    3) Bakit mahal ang charger? Alam ko gumawa lang ako dati :D

    3) Can i charge a NiMH batt with a NiCad chager?

    4) Ano effect ng ball bearings?

    more to come :D

Uy! alam ko yung truck na yan a  :D

don't forget the 8 AA alkaline batteries for the radio controller

hmm ano pa ba kailangan malaman... um, yung cover ng isang motor lead ng ESC natanggal... i really don't know how in the world that happened... sobrang hirap ibalik nun! :? baka pwede mong ipabalik sa technician sa Lil's hehe i'm not sure if the radio receiver is secured with double sided tape already...

hindi glued yung tires to the wheels, so the wheels may spin within the tires... sabi nila gluing increases performance a bit but puts more strain into the driveline. your call

hmm... you'd want to brush (with an old toothbrush) debris out of the suspension, axles, and the main tub after running, particularly if ran in dust or gravel...

yung spare parts in the box includes 3x6 mm screws and 3x10 mm screws, 3 mm washers, an extra snap pin... etc etc and the little screwdriver to adjust the dials on the ESC if needed... for your reference, yung parts chart on the left side of each step in the assembly manual shows parts in actual size...

don't forget to attach the plastic straw that carries the radio receiver wire... hehe I bored a hole on the box so the r/c can be stored with the straw in place

yung missing battery retainer (that part is held to the chassis by one snap pin) meron daw available sa Lil's makati... but for the meantime, i think string, tape, a velcro strip, or alambre would be an adequate temporary fix

the motor and ESC may become extremely hot after running... yung ESC gets hot particularly when you run slowly, like in rock crawling. it's normal, but be careful that you don't burn your fingertips on them i think some people cut a rally-style vent hole in the windshield or somewhere on the body to cool the electronics on the chassis... some even go so far as attaching a CPU fan to cool the motor/ESC hehe

merong spring spacers na nakakabit sa four spring/shock assemblies on the model... you may want to take them out or add or remove them to modify the handling...

lastly, sobrang tempting sumugod ng puddle of water with it... hehehehe... water + unprotected electricals = toasted R/C

i think that's all you need to know about the R/C :D have fun! 8)

if i remember right, baka peak charger yun... yun yata yung mahal but recommended for safe, sure, automatic charging... yung iba yata timed charging lang... kelangan mo bantayan maigi or else the batt pack might overload or something ata

Im shopping for second hand batts over the internet. Im gonna go to lils later and get the batt holder and antenna pole (and probably ball bearings hehehe) :D Hopefully by this afternoon id be enjoying my new toy!

Pics to follow of course

    Thanks again pre! :D

    chase,

ball bearings are more efficient than the standard plastic bearings (less friction)... run times and performance increase slightly...

    pajerokid,

pahabol lang... yung ESC is protected by a green 30A automotive fuse (it's right beside the heat sink on the ESC). if the ESC stops working for some reason, baka blown fuse lang yun

i'm not sure if the gears are still adequately greased... you may want to disassemble the front and rear gearboxes para ma-grasahan ulit. fun yun... bonding with your R/C hehe :D

    Some questions answered...

    Quote Originally Posted by pajerokid

    1) What the hell is a "Dean's Bar"? = Dean bar is a bar of Dean... Seriously a deans bar is the battery connector used to replace the Tamiya type battery plugs. These Deans plugs increases the electrical conductivty between the battery and the ESC thus providing more electrical transfer and less current loss.

    2) Whats the diff between a 25MHz Rx vs 40MHz? = It is the frequency used to contrlo the receiver by the transmitter (labo yata nun  ) If two R/C players use the same frequency, one of which might have difficulty controlling the car because of radio interference. Also very dangerous cause it might make the other car out of control nad result into a crash.

    3) Bakit mahal ang charger? Alam ko gumawa lang ako dati :D = Maraming lumabas na klase ng charger, may timed may intelligent may pang NiCd at may pang NiMh. Yung mga lumang model na timed charger, usually charges only NiCd. You can't charge a NiMh batts into these chargers kasi iba ang charging process at iba din ang voltage na gamit.

    3) Can i charge a NiMH batt with a NiCad chager? = NO!

    4) Ano effect ng ball bearings? = Ball bearing are the same bearing that Ungas is selling pero a lot smaller than them. It significantly reduces friction from the moving parts of the R/C. Less friction=more speed and less strain from the motor and gears. Visit this site and eBay to see different types of R/C bearings.

    more to come :D

mbt: Pre sigurado ka bang gamit na yung R/C mo? Mukang bagong assemble e! I'm sure matutuwa yung R/C mo s bagong owner nya at mabibigyan nanaman sya ng matinding TLC (Tender Loving Care) ni pajerokid.

mbt, Kinis kasi! Palagay ko nagsisisi si Djerms kung bakit do pa sya ang kumuha.

pajerokid: Try to keep your eye on this topic, maraming nagbebenta dito. Version 14 itong topic na ito meron nang version 15 pero wala pang naka post. Just keep on lurking sa Manila Racers thread and look for "RC Stuff for Sale and Barter" topic at baka maka tyempo ka ng murang charger dito.

    Hope this helps.
