Wow! ayos ang fan ninyo bro... Iyong fan sa mga parents ko,- lasted for 28 years... Nabali lang ang support,- kaya na-retire... Kung hindi,- takbo pa rin...
Agree. Hindi ako nagpapa-rewire,- kapag ayaw nang tumakbo,- bili na lang ng kapalit...

May 28th, 2014 10:44 AM #45McDo McMuffin -- same price pero smaller than before, ditto with the Big Mac.
Pizza Hut pizzas -- iba na talaga quality ngayon. A few years back they seem to have a adopted a volume sales approach, and the quality has gone down. There was a time we used to bring Pizza Hut pizzas to relatives in the province, laking tuwa na nila
S&R chicken and pizza -- seems to have gotten smaller ever since Puregold took it over. Nagmahal pa yung ibang items.
Shoes -- the "leather" feels fake, not much padding, no stitched sole, outsole doesn't last more than a few months. Actually, to be fair, the decent ones have been priced out of my comfort range so i'm left buying crappy ones.
Coca Cola -- dunno if it applies to other sizes, but many times i've opened one up with no fizz.
cars -- andami nang electronics these days.i really like the times when cars were just cars, not computers on wheels.

Men's shoes and bags in the last few years have had what I'd call a renaissance. There are now more brands that produce high quality leather goods. Unfortunately, you're correct in that they have been priced quite high. Some say that the price increase has been driven by the larger companies such as LVMH, Richemont and the like buying the tanneries to control the leather which I think is not far off from the possible truth. It makes you wonder where the leather for our seats are sourced now since seats require quite a substantial amount of leather.
And I totally agree on the cars having too many electronics. They are nice to have but will eventually become problematic automotive gremlins. I think the cars from the 90's where they only had a stereo, power steering, windows, door locks and side mirrors were just right. I wish the car manufacturers would give an option to customers to opt out of all those fancy electronics.

May 28th, 2014 01:20 PM #48i'm reminded of the time i saw a Ford Escort at a motor show; sobrang bakante ng engine bay, it didn't even have an AC. As if it's sole purpose was to be driven

One of the most expensive chocolate cake sold in our suking tindahan during the 90's.... WHAMMOS CUPCAKE.
Tinitipid ko talaga baon ko nun para lang makabili dahil 12 petot isa at malaki na yun during that time para sa mga estudyante.

May 30th, 2014 01:55 AM #50Whether we like it or not car technology will change to meet new standards.
Cars need to meet stringent safety, environmental pollution reduction and fuel efficiency that could only be achieved by going hi-tech. Those environmental controls (EGR,DPF,CAT,SCR,etc), and electronics full of sensors...
Even brakes nowadays wear fast and which was designed that way for added safety(stopping power).
Alternators now have overriding clutches to dampen rotational speed variations...
Clutches are now dual mass...And so on..
Every bit of new parts introduced adds to the wear and maintenance part. More parts means more point of failure.
But at the brighter side... cars nowadays are safer, fuel efficient, lower NVH, and more comfy than in the 90's.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
