I say enjoy your "free time" with Sun now - while it lasts.
Once the time comes for Digitel to pay back all the loans they made to get all the network equipment they need to be at par with the other two networks, they will surely have to raise their rates. It will then be a "tri-poly" where these three will share the market and fix thier rates so as to survive equally. Much like what the oil industry is doing. I can almost see the disgusted faces of Sun converts when this happens.
Worse, if Sun fails to grab an equal share of the market, it is not far fetched that they can sell out to Smart or Globe to regain their investment and make a profit even - as what happend with Islacom, Piltel and other telcos before. Bottom line - poor Sun converts, they have to revert back to thier old providers.
So I say again, enjoy what the free market now offers!

markus, how can you be so sure?
did someone leak out Sun's 5-year plan and revenue models to you?
True. Filthy enough to give some away?![]()
I hope that they are doing this sincerely for the people and not to add on to thier wealth. ;P These are businessmen.
What the heck? Magkano ba sim ng Sun? 150? + 250 Petot for the 24/7 that adds up to 400 bucks initial payment, not bad if you ask me. Atleast we got our moneys worth while it lasts. Laki din natipid ko nung nag Sun ako, most of my friends have Sun so its no biggie. I still have my Globe prepaid for emergency purposes.
pero 1 thing about chinese businessmen, ung iba kahit palugi na ok lng kc mas mahalaga pride nila. malay natin ganyan mga gokongwei.
as said by one of our executives...Originally Posted by BlueBimmer

so much is at stake that they can't risk it to fail.
'make' sana so as to divide the monopoly into 3. more is always better for consumers.
Not for anything else, but I really see this as a tri-poly in the making.
if what markus info come true, whats 150 (cost of sun's sim)
compare to 200 pesos a month savings (by my usage)
come to think of it nandito pa rin globe ko eh, im sure other have their old sims pa...
di naman lugi lang ang smart/globe sa mga prepaid users na tulad ko.
so by agreeing that Sun is aiming to be a part of the "tri-poly", you are confirming that Globe & Smart are a virtual duopoly right now?Originally Posted by silver_corolla

Simple lang ibig nyang sabihin bro, he's talking about "tri-poly" wherein an industry (CMTS) with only three (3) firms competing with each other. Ngayon kung dalawa lang sila eh di "duopoly" kapag isa e di "monopoly". It's a simple as counting 1... 2... 3...Originally Posted by mazdamazda
