Simple lang naman e. parang langis lang yan bro, kapag ang isang oil player nagbaba ng presyo sa halagang Php6.50/liter or lesser aalma din ang mga giant oil firms. ang DEREGULATION PROCESS na pinatutupad ng government ay hindi lang sa sobrang pagtaas ng isang produkto ganon din syempre sa sobrang pagbaba nito.
Subukan nyo mag-franchise ng Jollibee or McDonalds tapos ibigay mo ang burgers mo sa mababang presyo sa consumers.... Cell phone company defends new service

The country's two leading telecommunication firms Globe Telecom and Smart Communications are denying the public the freedom to choose the right kind of cellular phone service to fit their needs.
In a statement, Digitel senior vice president William Pamintuan said Globe and Smart were stifling the consumers' freedom of choice when they filed a petition before the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to stop Sun Cellular from providing a cheaper cellular phone service.
"They (Globe and Smart) should let the consumer decide. We should let the market decide, not the regulators (NTC)," Pamintuan told a news briefing yesterday.
Pamintuan claimed it was obvious that the two cellular service providers filed the petition because of Sun Cellular's successful marketing of its "24/7" unlimited call and text service.
The 24/7 service offers unlimited calls and texting among Sun-to-Sun subscribers per month for an additional P250 for pre-paid and post-paid subscribers.
Post-paid plan holders can subscribe to the service by paying a minimum fee of P250 every month on top of their current plans while pre-paid subscribers can load P100 valid for 10 days and load option of P250 valid for 30 days.
The service, originally offered as a promotional campaign by Digitel, was made permanent after thousands of new customers were drawn in. The promo has been popular among college students and low-income consumers.
The success of 24/7 service drove the company's subscriber base to 1.1 million as of end-December last year.
Pamintuan pointed out Smart and Globe are the two dominant cellular firms with more than 95 percent of the market.
Compared to these two giants, Sun Cellular is a very small competitor with less than five percent of the market, he said.
Pamintuan said the rapid growth of Sun's subscriber base from about 700,000 to some 1.5 million since October following the successful launch of its 24/7 service "had a lot to do" with the "sudden" petition filed by the two cellular service giants before the NTC.
He said the petition urging the NTC to put a stop on Sun Cellular's successful marketing strategy does not do any good for the public.
Through their respective subsidiaries - Innove for Globe and Piltel for Smart - the two cellular phone companies charged that Sun was practicing "predatory" or cut-throat competition pricing in offering its 24/7 service.
The complainants wanted the NTC to set all call rates at P5.50 per minute and bar Sun Cellular for charging much lower rates.
The NTC said it will give paramount consideration to the consuming public in deciding on the separate petitions filed by Globe and Smart.
"At the end of the day, we would take into account what would benefit the consumers," NTC chairman Ronald Solis said.
Solis had arranged a meeting last Monday among the top officials of the three cellular phone service firms "for a pre-trial."
"I called the CEOs to a meeting so they can make a presentation. This is in consonance with (our) desire as regulator to find a solution," Solis told reporters following the closed-door meeting with the officials at the NTC yesterday.
Among those at the meeting were Gil Genio, president of Innove; Napoleon Nazareno, president of Smart Communications; and Lance Gokongwei, chief executive officer of Sun Cellular and his uncle James Go, director of Digitel.
"We want to strike a win-win solution, a compromise," Solis said. "There are proposals placed on the table but I cannot divulge them."
Industry sources revealed the NTC is drafting a policy which will clearly define "discriminatory pricing," as was alleged by Globe and Smart against Sun Cellular.

SUN CELLULAR, the mobile phone service provider of Digital Telecommunications Philippines Inc. (Digitel), said it would spend 200 million dollars this year to expand its network coverage.
In a press briefing, Digitel vice president William Pamintuan said the mobile phone unit intended to increase its cellular sites to 2,000 by the end of the year from the current 1,300.
This expansion will enable the company to serve as many as 6 million subscribers, an improvement from its current network capacity of 2 million.
Pamintuan said Sun Cellular now has 1.5 million subscribers, up from 1.1 million at end-2004, with additions of around 6,000 subscribers daily.
Sun Cellular is the country's third and newest mobile phone service provider, having been launched only in March last year.
Its subscriber base still falls short of those of its competitors. Smart Communications Inc. expects its end-2004 subscriber base to have reached 19 million, while Globe Telecom Inc. had a subscriber base of 12.5 million at end-2004.
Pamintuan said that to break even at the EBITDA level, Sun Cellular would need to grow its subscriber base to at least 2.5 million. EBITDA stands for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. It is a good indication of profitability because it disregards financing costs and accounting decisions.
In profits terms, the company will likely break even between 2006 and 2007, the official added.
In October, Sun Cellular launched a promotion scheme that allows subscribers to make considerable savings on calls and SMS text messages.
Sun Cellular's 24/7 promotion allows subscribers to call and send text messages to each other for 30 days for a minimum fee of 250 pesos for prepaid subscribers. Those paying at least 100 pesos can enjoy the same benefits for 10 days.
Meanwhile, its postpaid subscribers can also avail of the same perks for 30 days by paying 250 pesos a month on top of the monthly service fee.
The firm's aggressive marketing scheme has prompted Smart and Globe to ask the state telecoms regulator to investigate what they claim was 'predatory pricing' by Sun.

Imagine ... they are giving us the exact Feature and benefit that we want...

may ups and downs man sa network ng SUN ...
still kapag nacompute natin yung time and amount na nagastos using these features ... eh panalong panalo ang consumers talaga.
hayaan natin magtalotalo mga networks, let us just hope na because of this scenario eh patuloy na magimprove mga services nila.

Let me share with you something I learned from my boss. If leader ka sa industry mo and halos monopoly ang labas, tapos bigla ka nagkaroon ng competition, ito ang gawin mo. Patayin mo na ang kalaban habang bata pa. Wag mo na intayin na lumaki pa yan para kagatin ka.

Kaya ako, in a subscriber point of view.... HINDI AKO PUPULOT NG BATO PARA LANG IPUKPOK KO SA ULO KO. Kahit na medyo mahal ang tawag at mag-text sa cellfone, basta hindi binabagsak ang tawag at sini-send lahat messages ko masaya na ako don. i average 1 hr of call everynyt sa sun. if 1 peso per min thats 60 per nyt. kahit 2 weeks thats P840, 1 month is P1,680. my goodness kahit minsan hrap pumasok, pag 250 lng bayad ko per month for that sulit na sulit na ako. hnd pa kasama txt wakekeke u cant have everything talaga, may tradeoff lng nga. kaya biglang bagsak na bagsak globe postpaid ko hehe
