    Well, yes there's the possibility of pneumoco... (ok I'll skip the "doctor speak" and just say "health risk") but that cr*p you're exposed to sa EDSA and other roads daily? That's much much worse than this (relatively) short exposure. And don't think that your airconditioned car & cabin filters make this some commuters' problem lang... reduced lang ang risk.

    Yes, wear a mask if you need to. Limit time outdoors, but there's no need to be unduly alarmed. Yun lang naman.

    exactly

    may mga tao mas nangangailangan ng mask wag na makipag agawan sa mga mas nangangailangan

    sabi ko nga mas grabe pa ang hangin noong new years eve (i'm talking about QC)

    Bataan nuclear power plant was built near mount pinatubo..looking back I'm wondering had it been operated what kind of damage it would have sustained then?

    Some american wearhouse that housed their jet fighters collapsed in clark..smartly they have evacuated all air assets out

    Only mount pinatubo had kicked the Americans out voluntarily

    That's the scale of eruption of mount pinatubo then and yesterday's taal eruption pales in comparison

    Like I said, its the individual's choice. Sa mga matatanda, many hate it kasi mas mahirap pa daw huminga and/or mainit daw. Suggestion ko, get them ones with "exhaust ports".

    No one will make fun of you if you decide to wear a mask, and if they do, its none of their business.

    The older generation are just saying, they've been through worse, we managed alright .

    ===
    The preceeding generation above us, gave it even worse to us--- "Kayo, hindi nyo naabutan yung gyera (WW2), isang beses lang kami kumain sa isang araw noon, kung may makain man" etc.. etc... hahaha

    Wala akong balak gayahin example nila (although I'd be a lot lighter)

    Looking back, I realize now though it was the principle and hardy mindset they were trying to pass on to us, which they had learned firsthand the hard way . It pays to listen to what the older folk are saying sometimes. They may not always be right, but they've been around the block longer and (hopefully) learned from their many mistakes.

    Parang gusto ko sabihin "ok gen x"

    Iba ang panahon noon sa panahon ngayon. In just 10 yrs, I can say that the air quality in Manila declined rapidly. Example, I used to be able to wash my car and leave it in the garage for a week and it stays clean. Ngayon, overnight lang, coated with dust na. Pati tubig, in the recent years may times na may kulay putik. I grew up in the 80s and it was common to see butterflies, caterpillars and dragonflies. I can't remember the last time I saw one.

    The quality of air, water and food here in PH can also be a factor why people now are more sakitin.

    Going back to topic, washed my car. 2 hrs after, coated with dust (or ash) na
