What the Taal Volcano ‘worst-case scenario’ could look like

"Much of the caldera is hidden by Lake Taal, and only a small portion of the volcano sits above the waves."

I read somewhere that Taal eruption closed off the now taal lake from the sea.

    Thus, tawilis was born!

alam nyo sa totoo lang talaga even if nakakaawa yun mga na displace, sila naman may kasalanan nyan eh

Look at the climate in that area, it’s being cooled, then there’s the lake above the volcano para lalo ma-cool ang place

Pero ano ginawa tayuan ng tayuan ng hotel at airbnb sa tagaytay and nearby cold areas in Batangas

Si juts nga nagpakasal sa isang hotel, gulat ako sobrang lapit na nun lake nun hotel

So what am I getting, you reap what you sow.

Nagtayo kayo sa tabi ng bulkan, you enjoyed and profited from it , sa matabang lupa and yaman ng lugar

Eh kaya padami ng padami ang inhabitants

The temperature na suppose to be na dapat i maintain ni nature sa place para di mag alburoto eh out of control na

So what’s the next step for nature to correct the balance, wipe out those structures all around para bumalik ang equilibrium

Dati nga mintik na ako bumili ng condo dyan eh, sa ayala. Pero naisip ko, i felt something wrong. Kabi-kabila na nag tayo ng airbnb condos, may retribution yun , so good thing I did not push thru

So I dont know if nature is poised to punish all those living within the area lang , then justice is done. Pero kung idadamay na buong metro manila, which is possible coz who own those fish pens, condos and vacation houses, diba mga tiga Manila din , then yun na nga damay damay na

Yun Lemery daw maunlad daw na lugar yun, magaganda daw bahay dun parang tagaytay, sirang-sira ngaun sa mga cracks, so i think nature knows her crosshairs

I've always been very vocal against all the development in Tagaytay, but mala Agent Smith naman itong si Mini:

"It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals.

Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not.

You move to an area and multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area.

There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague and we are the cure...

Ang mga tao sa Hollow earth nga ang gumawa ng bible eh, these beings once lived in the surface world pero lumipat sila sa hollow earth kasi napaka unstable ng surface world, tsunami ,earthquake, volcanic eruptions, famine, disease, asteroid, virus, plate movements

so sino sila? They are more advanced than us, in terms of emotional strength

Dito kasi pag na sakuna like yan nga nagyari sa Taal, pa victim mode lahat ng survivors pero alam naman nila sila me kagagawan nyan

Ang mga tao sa Hollow earth hinde mag resort sa ganyan baluktot na katwiran, they’re honorable, may breeding at well educated

Si Buddha, he is from Hollow Earth. Tignan nyo teachings nya, ang heaven ng buddhists ay Agartha, a paradise inside the earth

So from time to time, people from Hollow Earrth like Buddha, pumupunta dito para turuan tayo mamuhay ng tama and to live in harmony with nature

Taal lake is a caldera or collapsed magma chamber... Crater is the vent. Taal has 47 recorded craters.

OB says that whole taal lake is the vent

so the volcano is under the island of luzon

pag sumabog yan putol-putol na ang cavite batangas laguna

baka laguna de bay will be connected to taal lake which will drain into the sea

As it stands, PHIVOLCS is saying that we are currently observing symptoms and behavior similar to that of the 1911 Taal eruption. A detailed account of that eruption can be seen on the link below:

TAAL VOLCANO | Facts and Details

Basically, many villages and barangays were wiped out, with many of these having ZERO casualties. This is the reason why PHIVOLCS are advising people not to go back to their homes.

people are naturally attached to their property/material belongings kaya mahirap tanggapin at this time na everything is gone

their homes and things are still there naman... just covered in ash

kaya pa linisin, kaya pa ibalik sa dati

people will only accept everything's gone when it's really gone

so for now since di pa nangyayari ung malaking explosion people have the strong urge to go back to their homes

the gov't is trying to protect people from their urges

    mahirap na trabaho yan

    gaano katagal?

sabi it can be days to weeks to months

the longer the explosion doesn't happen, the stronger the people's urge to go back to their homes

The LGUs are discouraging civilians wanting to bring relief goods from going near the danger zones. Those who want to help should bring to known centers like the Red Cross or the AFP. Hazardous eruption is imminent as far as they are concerned.

Yes according to not so known history books....Taal used to be a Salt water bodies of water and part of the Balayan Bay. During the Spanish time the Galleon ships used to trade and dock in the Old Lipa and Taal .But upon eruption in 1755 nalubog ang Lipa and ung town ng Taal and was transferred to it's respective current site. Also the gateway to Balayan Bay narrowed up to the size of a river only (Pansipit River). Thereby trapping the sardines and Trevally (Talakitok), thru the time the species evolved to a fresh water type of sardines (Tawilis) and Maliputo. There were also evidences of dead corals in the Lake proving that it was formerly part of Balayan Bay and not a Lake. During the early 1900's meron pa shark and was decimated slowly until the mid 30's.

The fear now is the Pansipit River had Dried up and part of Lemery bay water level had dropped considerably, ( could be signs of rising LAND due to bulging of magma underneath ) kaya worried marami now na baka maulit ang 1755 type of eruptions or the 1911 type of eruptions.

In addition to the previously identified fissures in Lemery (Sinisian, Mahabang Dahilig, Dayapan, Palanas, Sangalang, Poblacion, Mataas na Bayan), Agoncillo (Pansipit, Bilibinwang), Talisay (Poblacion 1, Poblacion 2, Poblacion 3, Poblacion 5) and San Nicolas (Poblacion), new fissures were observed in Sambal Ibaba, Lemery. Drying up of portions of Pansipit River has also been observed. Furthermore, newly acquired satellite images would show that the Main Crater Lake (MCL) has been drained and new vent craters have been formed inside the Main Crater and on the north flank of the volcano.

The Philippine Seismic Network plotted a total of five hundred twenty (520) volcanic earthquakes since 1:00 PM, January 12, 2020. One hundred sixty-nine (169) of these were felt with intensities ranging from Intensity I – V. Since 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM today, there were fifty-three (53) volcanic earthquakes plotted and twelve (12) of which were felt with intensities ranging from Intensity I – III. Such intense seismic activity probably signifies continuous magmatic intrusion beneath the Taal edifice, which may lead to further eruptive activity.

This is scary. What will happen if it erupts? Another ashfall? Lava? Lahar? Earthquake?

EDIT according to PHILVOLCS when there is base surge surrounding areas will lose oxygen and people won't be able to outrun it
