well,
somebodys are of the opinion that these influencers make more money than many college-education-based positions.

a respected elder in the profession, says to us,
"if you want to be successful and remembered in our profession, you have to strive to be the best at something. anything. as long as you are the best."
i suppose, it's because if people think you're very good at one (medical) thing, you are probably also good at other (medical) things.

doc, these youtubers are raking in cash. I like watching new or small youtubers but once they get big I lose interest. Usually within a year they get to buy a house and car. Even at 100k subs, it's enough to quit a job.

HOWEVER, there is no prestige in being a youtuber and conservatives especially the older generation look down on it and don't view it as a real job. Imagine, your income depends on how "liked" you are (views), that really fcks up a person's psychology.

In exchange for views/cash you give up your privacy and become target for criticism (as much as the praises from fans) Some youtubers when views are going down kung ano ano ng desperate moves. I read of several big youtubers 1M and up subs nga DENIED sa US VISA on their first application. Bilib ako sa pera sa youtube but not everyone has the character for that, you need to want a lot of attention hehe

Being an "influencer" is also not sustainable in the long term. Eventually the growth of their platform will stagnate, there will be less engagements, and sponsor interest will fall.

Some will earn enough to invest in a business and use their platform to promote such business.

As a child, my definition of success is surpassing the achievements of your parents (wealth, career, power etc) I think any good parent would want that as well

As a parent, success is when you are able to raise good human beings.

That's my definition lang naman

I'm so thankful for my friends because since I've been jobless, they NEVER EVER made me pay when we'd go out. EXCEPTION would be my Spanish group.

It's so funny kasi they are the most financially successful among my friends, single with high paying jobs and yet never offered to treat me out LOL (not that I am expecting) I don't know if it's a generational gap thing since they are Gen X and I am an older millennial.

I can't say kuripot because they really spend on food. They don't even eat fast food saka sila usually kasama ko in pricier restaurants.

I always treat them out on my birthday, one is generous when it comes to gift giving. Also when I ask her to buy something for me, most of the time she doesn't let me pay her anymore.

Si Atty never pa nag bigay ng birthday gift lol (I am piecing things together, she really hates me) Even Christmas she doesn't give din Medyo weird lang kasi for someone so proper, she doesn't bother for these things. Hindi ko rin alam kung back handed compliment na it's so *my school* of me to wrap presents nicely. Pero pag dating kay SO grabe gumastos Maling mali
