How can you measure success of a person?
Can it be that a person has a car? house? money? etc...
BUT, can it be success if all those things came from their parents? and not self earned?
I think, true success is you start from nothing and now you have everything..

April 26th, 2016 01:58 AM #2Why do we need to measure the success of a person?
Is it necessary for one person to measure the success of others?
I think it will not be healthy for a person to measure or should I say compare his accomplishment with others. Maiinggit lang tayo kung lagi natin compare ang sarili natin sa iba.

If a person is happy, then that's all that matters. To be honest, I don't look at what other people have. If I need something, then I work toward that goal.
I worked hard to acquire the house we're living in now. But, it's mainly for our kids. Once our last kid moves out, we're selling the house and moving to a one-bedroom apartment....or perhaps buy an RV and live a nomadic life.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; April 26th, 2016 at 05:25 AM.

April 26th, 2016 06:15 AM #5somebody said that, success is measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles that he has overcome while trying to succeed. i agree.

How many of us here can really say we started from nothing.....unless we were orphans? Most of us have parents who worked hard to provide for us, shelter us, feed us, guide us.

April 26th, 2016 10:46 AM #8money and material things are a terrible measure of success. ung nag cocommute gusto ng simpleng kotse, ung may kotse gusto ng sports car, ung naka sports car gusto ng exotic supercar and so on. Its all relative nga.
Happiness and contentment mas madaling measure, i suppose.

April 26th, 2016 03:29 PM #10IMO, success is when you have a happy family life and healthy loved ones.
the triumph of man over... man!, using the crudest of implements (by modern standards).
