I'm still thinking about it (early retirement) after 26 years in service.

BTT when you know that you don't have to engage all the time. Choose your wars. Spare yourself the BS.

When more and more of your elders are passing on. In the past 4 months alone:

    - Dad of my wild friend. I've known him for 25 yrs and even if my friend is based abroad, I would still drop off gifts for him, He passed alone because all his children are abroad

    - my Lola - She was 92 yrs old and my favorite (aside from my direct Lola)

    - Dad of my neighborhood friend. I've known him since I had any memory. We lost touch for many years and recently became FB friends but he passed at 86 I message with him more than my friend because we have a shared hatred for Duterte.

    - Dad of my childhood BFF. I've known him since I was 4 yrs old. He was late 70s na but I was expecting him to easily reach his 80s. I was shocked when my childhood BFF told me 2 days ago. It was so heartbreaking when she told me she wanted to come to my house the same day she found out but she couldn't hug me anyway.

I will never complain na when my Aunties/Titas still treat me like a child even at this age (we will always be children in the eyes of our elders).

Or if it's your friends that are dying instead of parents of your friends.

    right.
the parents of my friends are a vanished breed.

what i do not want to go to,
are the wakes of my friends' children.
children shouldn't be buried by their parents.
