The only "prophecy" i've heard that i've been dreading to happen is the anti-Christ na pope. Sana wala naman.
I've read somewhere that JP2's death is one of the marks of the start of the end of the world... since the one replacing him will connive with a certain anti-Christ.

    but that's just rumours.

based on the Bible... let's just watch out for a worldwide peace movement... specifically for the unification of religions / governments in the guise of peace...

hmm...besides the office of US president, i can't think of a position where an evil man can do more harm than pope of the RCC.

narinig ko kanina sa radio sa news na ang japan(isa sa mga agencies nila forgot the name) nag issue ng warning na sa kalagitnaan ng taon maaring magkaroon ng tsunami as a result of an earthquake---gaya ng nangyari sa ibang asian countries recently. so winarningan ang mga naninirahan malapit sa bay...

---and we are right on schedule...

so it makes sense dun sa prediction---sana hindi totoo.

    im afraid to fly
    and i dont know why
im jealous of the people who
    are not afraid to die

actually im not afraid to die(anytime), ang takot ako ay dun sa HOW(but how)?

it still doesn't make sense sa prediction dahil common na sa japan ang earthquakes and tsunamis? in fact, tsunami is a japanese word yata, what's new about that?

20 years ago, kahit 50 or 100 years ago meron ng earthquake sa japan and tsunami so bakit until now buhay pa rin tayo? dapat doomsday na dati pa, walang connection sa prediction na doomsday yan....

walang may alam kung kailan and doomsday ok? kahit sinong "prophet" magsabi hinde totoo yun....geez

sowee may mali sa pagkakasulat ko, yun prediction pala ay exclusive lng sa pilipinas tayo ang winawarningan hindi in general(asia or japan only). kng baga 2nd tayo sa line up(after thailand and indonesia ba yun?) in dis part of the world. so yun prediction nun sister ang medyo may similarity.

Sumatra volcano already acting up sabi sa CNN. The tectonic plate movement from last Dec. sa Indonesia has created some movements which led to this. A week ago Zambales at Japan.
    Whatever...

Quake rumor rocks Phivolcs, sends wave of fear thru Metro

    Posted 01:49am (Mla time) April 15, 2005
    By Blanche Rivera
    Inquirer News Service

Editor's Note: Published on page A1 of the April 15, 2005 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer

PREDICTIONS of an intensity 9 earthquake rocked the country's seismology center yesterday and sent a wave of panic around Metro Manila.

Alarmed citizens burned the phone lines to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology all day yesterday, attempting to verify e-mail and text messages that said an earthquake was to hit Metro Manila in the late afternoon.

Phivolcs seismology chief Jane Punongbayan said the inquiries started as early as last week but peaked yesterday as the time of the predicted earthquake approached.

Some callers were asking whether it was still safe to go to work or send their children to school. Others just wanted to know if the reports were true.

One text message went: "Sister Reodica predicted the tsunamis. She is predicting that there will be an intensity 9 earthquake at 5 p.m. April 14, 2005 in Manila. Pls pray hard and pls be in a safe place. Pls pray the rosary."

Other versions were not as precise, saying the earthquake would occur later today or a few days after April 15.

    'Sea of fire'

An e-mail message from someone claiming to be a doctor said that an earthquake would jolt Manila, cause water to flood the city, destroy the fuel depot in Pandacan and eventually create a "sea of fire."

The sender said she had already moved her children to La Union for safety.

It was not clear if the Sister Reodica referred to was Sr. Raquel Reodica, a healer who operates out of the Religious of the Virgin Mary healing center in Novaliches. She had claimed to have been visited by visionaries who predicted the deadly tsunami that struck Asia and parts of Africa in December 2004.

Punongbayan stressed that the messages did not come from Phivolcs.

    No scientific basis

"The prediction was made by a psychic. There is no scientific basis for that," she said in an interview.

"The faults and trenches can move anytime, but there is no one in the whole world, not even the Japanese, who is capable of making valid short-term predictions," Punongbayan said.

"There has been no ground deformation, no indication at all that there will be an earthquake with that intensity," Punongbayan said, adding that experts can only predict seismic activities or ground movements over a long period, such as decades.

Japan, which has been frequently devastated by earthquakes, leads the world in the development of seismic technology and early warning systems for all kinds of disasters.

"I cannot tell psychics not to make predictions ... But I hope they have better-and correct-predictions next time, so they will not cause panic," Punongbayan said.

The Philippines is prone to seismic upheavals because of its location on the so-called "Pacific Ring of Fire," an arc stretching from New Zealand, passing through Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan, extending north to Alaska and down the west coast of North and South America, that is ringed by volcanoes.

    Tectonic plates

Tectonic plates underneath this zone constantly shift and collide, producing earthquakes and causing volcanic eruptions.

In the Philippines, these faults and trenches that are the earthquake generators are found on the eastern and western sides of the country.

    20 quakes daily

The country sits on 28 major faults and one continuous fault running from Northern Luzon to eastern Mindanao.

The Philippines experiences about 20 earthquakes daily but these are not strong enough to be felt.
