just a thought: suspending the e-vat might have its repercussions in the future, without it now, prices of basic commodities will be unrealistically high say after 5-10 years...

We are really inviting a fiscal crisis. If that happens, hyperinflation, business closure, bank run and breakdown of services.

I am pleasantly surprised that some posters here actually have the same view as me... Practically all those who've been posting in the other forums are happy with the TRO.

What the Supreme Court did is wrong and is a MAJOR embarassment for the country. The E-VAT may not be popular but it is a step in the right direction.

    direction on wat?

    more money to corrupt!

Gov't dont need funds they need to buckle there belt not to corrupt!

They dont need to increase the vat they need to increase there vigilant to collect taxes in BIR and the BOC...

    God help us!!!

Don't forget the private individals who have been skipping on their fiscal obligations.

If the BIR had been as vigorous in collecting taxes a decade ago, and diligent enough to monitor where those taxes actually go, the E-VAT would have been unnecessary by now.

Monitor input/output tax declaration... even the old vat law they can monitor it easily if they want to press on the companies to pay the right taxes.

Lets polish first our policy and our attitude bago natin ipasa ang problema sa iba.

We dont need Evat or vat... we need our govt to more or aggressively not to corrupy.

The new E-VAT law doesn't increase taxes... it only removes the exemption of some goods & services from being VAT-able.

That is a classic sample why corruption couldn't be killed here... if people / companies do not give in to the demands of this officials then there wouldn't be any more of this. Mandaya kasi dinadaya ako...

    >> i agree, but we can't keep blaming the government too. if drastic, measures/reforms must be implemented so that future generations won't suffer much then that doesn't leave us with any choice. GMA should prove this time that she means business, if she wants to earn our trust back then she should quickly draw up some plans that will help push our economy back
