Just keep your cool. If it gets into your head, ikaw din ang talo.

cooler heads prevail talaga sa mga ganyan. one Christmas day, my wife and I were on our way to the movies, and I accidentally cut off a driver. hinabol ako, pagkatapos hinarangan yung kotse ko. may dalawang bumabang mexicano, maskulado. galit na galit yung driver, sinisigawan ako at hinahamon. buti na lang, quick thinking din ako, sabi ko sa kanila, "c'mon guys, it's Christmas". sa awa ng Diyos, na-realized nila na Christmas nga, so they just went back to their car and took off. whew!! i know, the macho thing to do was to have it out with them, pero for what? para magulpi ako, or mabaril ko sila? i don't wanna go to prison, lagi kong nada-drop yung sabon.

first of all, nakakahiya when a grown up man is not emotionally stable, di ba? its like kids who fight over a toy or something. as a kid pag sinuntok ka, tendency is gaganti. admirable if a kid would apoligze and not retaliate there is a reason why we say "we act childish" in some sort of way. as adults we should ideally be in a state where we can control emotion and think rationally and be unassuming. i know sometimes I act childishly too like others who gets mad and tries to get even, but when i see my wife beside me i say to myself "what the heck if i did get even?" pano kung madamay yun asawa ko. sometimes i look into the mirror and see a grown good looking man and it hits me not to act childish

    ^ Heheh....how true.

I used to have so much road rage when I drive in manila because I couldn't believe how stupid some people are. Now when I'm there, I realize that it is just how things are, no amount of your anger and lost hair will change it. It's just acceptance and when you actually expect it, you don't get so mad hehe. Hayan mo nalang pare, defensive/offensive driving mix and remember that either way, you'll get to your destination. Parang ipis, they'll be there no matter what.

The pistol in my glove compartment is for use only if some racist decide to make good on his threat to track me down. It's not really for stupid drivers. I'm very reluctant to go for the gun because once I aim, it's shoot to kill and I'll be aiming for the head. I know it's a hassle. But, stupid drivers are a blessing compared to what I have the gun for.

Edit: If some stupid driver insists on having things his way, I yield and let him have it his way......

you can't change the world by reprimanding a stupid motorist. yan ang narealize ko... I can kick his ass but there are thousands like him... tapos pwede pako balikan or magkakaso sa korte.

as simplistic as it sounds, reading the bible seemed to have a calming effect for me read ROMANS. hehe. I guess blessing people as one of you suggested is very effective. mas masarap ang walang kaaway!

nasa pilipinas tayo, don't expect too much.

Hindi ko na lang pinapansin. After busina for 30 seconds (or longer if he had a bigger offense), tapos na. Back to listening to jazz music na ulit.

    How to control Road Rage?

    c) Play some christian song, it will help our brain to relax... Wag lang matutulog ha... Baka mabangga...

What is it with you guys from California? Stop means puuuuuuuuuuuut on the braaaaaaaakes, looooooooooooook both ways, and then go if it's clear. It's not slow down, not even look either way, and then floor the pedal. Those 2 Pinays who t-boned cars in two separate accidents near our house both had California plates.....

Anyway, it's a j/k. I'm sure you're an alert driver...... But, friggin Californians.....

Also, I made a complete stop at an intersection (at Sacramento) and the dick behind me honked his horn. What the........

The last time I had a case of road rage was back in 1995 when I was stationed in Korea. I was still in the AF and was riding shotgun along a highway after a long exercise with ROK and US Army troops.

We were just driving along the 2-lane road in a HUMVEE "Turtle" when a cement mixer truck pulled up behind us. The driver of the truck honked at us to go faster. My driver just looked back and shrugged. Then, my driver said the Korean driver just gave him the finger. So, my driver gave the bird right back. Then, when the 2-lane road became a 4-lane highway, the cement mixer truck overtook us, got into our lane, and then slammed the brakes!

Now, it was my turn to get pissed. I ordered my driver to overtake the mixer truck which he did. I then went halfway up the gunner's cupola with my M-16 and a magazine full of blanks (I also had live rounds, albeit illegally, courtesy of some ROK troops) I waved the gun, waved the magazine with blanks(he didn't know it was blanks) to the Korean driver, "See what I'm doing? U-huh, that's right. I'm loading this M-16". I then pulled back the charging handle, took the safety off, leveled the M-16 right at him, and pulled the trigger which gave off 3 shots. He slammed his brakes and then veered towards the grass island between the 4 lanes. Us, we kept going and was soon far away. Not sure what happened to the guy. I hope he's ok. But no one passed me for the rest of our trip back to base. If he hadn't pulled back, the live rounds would've been next......

Since then, I haven't had a case of road rage.........

Edit: my driver said I was cussing really loud throughout the incident. I cooled down afterwards when my driver, upon hearing the shots, pulled me back through the cupola and started shaking me hard. All I remember was him saying, " What do you think you're doing? I don't want to be put on INTERNATIONAL HOLD, you hear!?!".

We kept quiet about the whole thing. Since I'm retired now and far away from Korea.......
