RANT! Elevator Etiquette

1. People who try to get in before you get out. This is just plain rude. Ang ginagawa ko minsan ay to stand in the middle of the elevator door para lalo lang sila mahirapan.

2. People who take "round trips". Kapag pupunta ako sa basement level, yung ibang tao sa ground floor eh sasakay na. Kapag pababa naman at rush hour (lunchtime or uwian), yung iba sumasakay na paakyat pa lang ng elevator... so puno na siya pagbaba. Both instances causes delays.

3. People who hog the space near the floor selector buttons. Andaming ganito! Parang yun ang fave spot. Kapag ako ang napwesto malapit dun, I leave a 1 foot space so that people can easily press their desired floor. Yung iba naman kapag nakita ung 1 foot gap na yun eh pumipilit na sumingit pa. Sheesh.

4. People who stand near the door but don't give way to disembarking passengers.

5. People who don't want to move the rear portion. Minsan maluwag pa sa bandang likod ayaw man lamang gumalaw.

1. people who press down or up, but when the elevator stops at their floor, they don't go in. daming ganyan dito sa rcbc plaza.

2. group of people riding with you who talks like they don't give a damn who is with them inside the elevators. true for call center peeps here at the rcbc plaza. tropa-tropa, mga nagsisigawan pa.

3. people who fart inside elevators
4. people riding with you who smells "amoy-araw...."
5. related to item 4..... you are riding the elevator with an arab or with an indian...
6. people who unload their garbage inside the elevators - again, with some isolated cases at the rcbc plaza.
7. there are two of you in the elevator, and the other one is a big papsi (bakla).

other elevator rants....

1. slow elevators.
2. slow elevators while you are waiting at the ground floor....your office is at the 30th floor. and you are late....
3. slow elevators while you are waiting at the ground floor....your office is at the 30th floor, and your boss keeps calling you because you have a network crash....
4. being trapped in an elevator in the middle of the 20th and the 21st floor.
5. being trapped in an elevator in the middle of the 5th and the 6th floor, and the emergency button or the intercom is not working... (happened to me na.... -> vicente madrigal building...)
6. elevator too fast, as if humuhuni tenga mo, parang you are inside a plane which is taking off.
7. being trapped in the elevator with item 7, above.

o kaya minsan... mag press ng up/down... then ang tagal sumakay... nakikipag chikahan pa... tapos i hold pa yung elevator... tapos biglang hindi na raw siya sasakay.

Sa condo...people with kids who use their shoes to "stamp" their mark on the elevator walls and door. di manlang pagsabihan ang anak. tsk! tsk!

Lahat naman ng bldgs dito ganyan, wala naman talaga public courtesy karamihan na tao dito eh.

One time sa Robinson's Equi bldg nung andun pa office namin, I was getting out of the elev (mga 4 lang ata kami nun) and this guy storms in and knocks my laptop back off my shoulders.

Sabi ko "maghintay ka naman makalabas yung nasa loob, di naman tatakbo yung elevator"... Then I walked off.

Aba, hinabol pa ako sa may lobby. Sinisigawan ako kung ano problema ko.

Sabi ko, "Sa tanda mo nyan, di mo padin alam ang basic na logic na lalabas muna nasa loob ng elevator bago papasok ang sasakay? Eh kahit ng jeep at bus ganun patakaran eh"

Galit padin sya, paulit-ulit hirit lang "ano ba gusto mo mangyari, yabang mo ah!"

Nagsosorry na yung kasama nyang lalake, di ako umalis, di din naman umimik... Kabwiset!

Dito sa Orient Sq. ganun din, karamihan yung mga ahente sa Earth+Style at mga malalanding bakla dun sa isang call center... Pucha puno ang elev, ihohold nila at maghaharutan pa...

One time mga 1130pm na yun, I left something sa taas ng office (nasa lobby na ako), so akyat ako ulit, at that time libreng-libre mga elevators... Pumasok ako, may isang humabol, so fine... The door was closing and inopen nya ulit and stuck his head out.

Since I wasn't in a rush, isip ko "fine, parating nadin naman"

Aba, mga 10 secs na wala padin, yung naghold wala din sinisigawan or tinatawag.

Nabwiset ako sabi ko sa kanya, "baka gusto kunan pa kitang silya dyan habang hinihintay mo mga mababagal mong kasama!??"

have you guys encountered sa escalator naman... yung mga ogags na pag step off ng escalator one step lang tatayo sa gitna, either di alam saan pupunta or makikipaglandian o kung ano pa ibang gagawin without thingking na may tao sa likod... nung minsan nangyari sa akin sa megamall pababa...sa harap ko 3 babae distance ko sa kanila mga 4 steps... sakto pag step off ng escalator may nasalubong na kaibigan...lintek di umalis sa bungad ng escalator dun nag kwentuhan... nag pile-up mga tao sa likod dahil walang makadaan... pati ako minura nung matandang babae sa likod ko... badtrip

happened also sa podium naman a guy talking on the cell going up... steps off then blocks the escalator and keeps yapping on the cell... ginawa ko, binangga ko sya sa right side hoping his cell will fly out his hands... tumingin sya sa akin...hiniritan ko agad kasi naman daanan hinaharang mo tumabi ka dun at di ka istorbo sa escalator... di na kumibo dahil daming nakatingin din sa kanya paakyat ng escalator

to add... there are some pricks out there who press the "close" button kahit hindi ka pa halos nakakababa. yung gf ko naipit dun (which resulted in a bruise).

or yung iba... ayaw magpasakay when you press the up/down button... as if sa kanila yung elevator. this happens usually dun sa mga taga 25th floor dito sa building namin kapag kasama yung amo nila. akala mo sila ang may-ari ng building, e isang floor lang ang rent nila (while our company rents 8 floors... tapos affiliate company pa kami).

tapos pag dalawa or tatlo lang kayo...kausapin mo yung "imaginary" friend mo..kunyari may kausap kang nakakatawa.

Goes to show you that nowadays, lotsa people have verry little common sense, don't have courtesy and don't have good manners.
