Pwede ka mag-barong na cream-colored. Pero kung ako ikaw, light-colored long sleeves na lang at dark pants. Make sure malinis leather shoes mo. No need to wear tie if you think you can get away with it -- sa umpisa lang 'yang tie, most likely tatanggalin mo na pag mainit na. Suit? I don't get it. You wear suit if you're in the U.S., not here. But that's just me and I'm a nonconformist. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Daan ka sa Marquee... Bili ka ng dark brown, dark blue, or black tie with light accents (lines or small dots, etc.) sa Marks and Spencer or Memo, or yung outlet store ng branded kung may mga sale stuff sila. Kung ayaw mo bumili, pahiram ko sa yo yung suot ko ngayon na dark brown tie, baka bumagay. :D

Or hanap ka rin ng Buzz Lightyear na necktie tulad nung sa avatar mo.

And don't get a skinny tie! Yung medium width or medyo slim lang, pwede na. Dapat tama siya sa fit ng mga polo na meron ka.

Sayang wala si OB... i'm sure mabibigyan ka niya ng fashion tips din sana. ;)

Suits are very acceptable here, for formal affairs and at work (especially if you're senior management in a formal or ma-japorms na company). We're still not like HK or SG though where you see even the rank and file workers going to work in suits. At formal affairs, it's always best to clarify the attire (if strictly suit or strictly barong), especially if you're a special guest (sponsor, ninong, ninang, etc.) since the host sometimes sets a motif and you're included in formal pictorials.

ang alam ko long sleeves with tie is not formal, pag pinatungan ng suit yun ang formal
long sleeves barong is considered formal, hindi yun polo barong
correct me if i'm wrong though

Never wear a barong on a debut party. Pwede yan pag binyag or kasal. Hehe

Bili ka na rin ng slim fit slacks mo, sa onesimus magaganda yung tela.

    Pwede ba mag barong?

Kapag suit, ok ba black with pastel inner?

Considered formal ba if long sleeves lang?

Formal is really depends on you.

    Barong is fine.

Pastel inner shirt in a suit... doesn't really do well for a real formal event, unless you are a gay host of the event.

Long sleeves shirt... not really considered "formal" unless you're a teenager.

Same reason why men buy Playboy and Penthouse magazines... for the articles.

Basing from my experience, even if "formal attire" is indicated on the invitation, some guests would arrive in casual wear. Actually depende din yan on how you wear your clothes. On some formal occasions I would usually wear a short sleeved shirt covered by a formal jacket (blazer), a good pair of jeans or chinos (no jologs designs please), loafers, or brogues, and no neck tie. I get along just fine.

Saan ba gagawin yan? alam mo naman sa atin loosely used ang term na formal, just make sure na naka dress pants ka and not an ordinary slacks, sabi nga when in doubt dress up.
