^ Subjective kasi yung universal understanding natin mga filipino ng "formal attire". Kaya I tend to mix and match nalang ... hehe.
^ oo nga safe yun suggestion mo hehehe
na experience ko na yun comming to a party in a formal attire coz the invitation says so, pero upon arriving at the event lahat naka casual![]()
if formal talaga get a suit. a long sleeve polo and a tie isn't really formal. it's what you wear every day in the office. since debut lang naman i'm sure madami dadating jan na di naman talaga formal ang suot. if you're good at wearing clothes my suggestion is leather shoes, jeans, shirt and a blazer. kung magaling ka mag dala di ka mag mumukhang jologs. :bwahaha: pag debut di ako nag susuot ng suit madalas ganon lang jeans, shirt and blazer lang unless kasama ako sa 18 candles then mag suit ako. pero pag mga business meeting tapos mga foreigner ang ka meeting talagang no choice ako kung hindi mag suit.
A blazer is more casual... Walang padding, etc. This is what people usually wear over their everyday clothes.
Kung sa Shang and it's an evening affair then that is formal indeed.![]()
Just ask yourself......
.... if you're James Bond, what would you wear that would be appropriate for the occasion?![]()
if the indicated attire is formal and still in doubt, come in barong. it's the national formalwear. only time i go in suit is if it's specifically requested, or in tagaytay or baguio. malamig..
^ The thing is, going back to the first post, Boybi's attending a debut. I haven't encountered a debut party where the attendees wore barong. At least with the suit, he can remove the tie and it'll already look less formal if need be. Or even dump the coat later on and roll up his shirt sleeves.![]()
Wow, formal AND pastel colors attire. A little too imposing on the guests IMO. Some may prefer not to attend because of such requirements. But anyway, back to topic...
Combining formal and pastel color, well, it doesn't look like it's that formal anymore. You may be able to get away with the Clooney no-tie look , if you can pull it off (medium to light grey suit with pink buttoned shirt underneath?) Also, wearing a simple blazer is also a whole lotta better than the jacket-less long-sleeve with tie look.
Oh, and if you are going to go with a long-sleeve barong, please be sure to wear long-sleeve undershirts as well.![]()
The rules for formal attire for guys is simple --> barong (with white shirt) or black suit with white long sleeve shirt.
Guys, where can i buy a nice suit (COAT LANG) without spending too much? Going out of the country next month. TIA
ZARA Men has some good options for a coat which can be used for formal or casual wear. Or, if you prefer something a little more grown-up, Marks and Spencer (but this is a little more pricey).
G2000 is pretty good also, if you find the right fit.
Note that you'd have to spend a little for alteration because these are off the rack. HTH!
