Ah, question? Are they also strict on softwares installed in the laptop (i.e., pirated) or this is purely on ****ographic materials?
I cannot answer that, but I think that is too much. You don't need to bring your license keys with you everytime you travel. What if you forgot to bring them? What will they do? Ask you to leave your laptop in Burma and come back and get it when you have license keys with you?Originally Posted by KALAMPAG
They are strict on nearly everything. They are concerned on the...."pollution" that foreigners bring to their countries that would contradict the political and "moral" stand of the current government. Aside from ****o material, examples of what they look for are:Originally Posted by KALAMPAG
1. Documents, files, softwares and the like that are anti-government or against whatever political atmopshere that is in the country.
2. Documents, files, softwares and the like that "might start the people thinking". You know what I mean.
3. Documents, files, softwares, movies, audio and the like that promote western pop culture that the government deems bad because "they pollute the minds of the populace".
As for the CD keys you mentioned, they don't give a damn. However, they elook at what's contained on email messages that is stored in Outlook or whatever your email client might be. One cannot object: if one objects, he/she goes straight to jail for the night or gets fined heavily.
I read one post that recommends encryption. While this is a good deterrent, it would only remain as a deterrent. If anybody out there thinks that these government people are idiots or don't know enough about computers because they are in a backwater country, think again: if you go there, you would be in for a rude awakening. In fact, in Burma, ALL incoming and outgoing mail (eletronic mail AND snailmail) are scanned by the government. In some backwater African countries, the same is true.
In countries like these, you can't even donate electronic/computer equipment without the government dipping their hands to see "what's inside". Even money: you can't bring in a whole lot of money because they would get suspicous of you. There were times that we could not officially provide a grant/donation to our project there because of their issue with large amounts of cash.
Now, if you travel to countries in Western Europe, some countries in Eastern Europe and some countries in South America, they woud just scan the laptop using the xray machine: they won't bother you to open your laptop. But, if you go to countries like Burma (where communisim and militarism are strictrly imposed even at the grassroots level), then you better clean your gear before stepping down that plane.
Did they strip-search Angelina Jolie when she filmed Tomb Raider in Burma too?
In some countries I visited they asked to boot your laptop for security reasons baka daw kasi fake na laptop or Bomb lang ang dala mo. kakainis lang after boot up mamadaliin ka nila umalis para sa next passenger.
Consodering japan marami talagang child ****o. kahti nga cartoons ginagawa nilang ****o.
Is it everyone or nearly everyone? What a hassle if everyone in business class will be asked to switch on their laptops to search for illegal **** before they get past immigration.

:hihihi:
:bwahaha: hahaha, kapatid hindi bawal ang malibog. Pero a child ****ography is just sick. Originally Posted by EL Chicane

From my first hand accounts, U.N. ambassadors that happen to be Hollywood celebrities are givenn different and preferential treatment. Same goes with U.N. consultants that have the say where the money goes to. When these people travel to backwater countries, the government of that country does not show them the worst that they have. Yes, they show them the bad stuff but these are those "showpiece" projects they have. You know what I mean.
They show them these places (to the celebrity, to the foreign media, to the U.N., etc.) to show that the money being given to the government is actually put to good use. What happens next of course is they ask for more money, and of course, more money would be raised. In realilty though, only 10% of the foreign aid goes to the people who need it. Sometimes even less.
Now back to the topic.
Dati, nag-import kami ng surplus na computer from Japan for distribution sa mga projects namin. Syempre, bago namin ipamigay, kailangan iayos namin muna. Kaya, nagawa namin paganahin yung computers.
Just for the sake of kalokohan, binuriri namin yung mga computers. Out of the 15-17 computers na binuriri namn, 9 dun ang loaded ng **** at hentai. 'Lam nyo mga peeps, karamihan ng Hapon na lalaki eh mahihilig. Kahit nga s atrain station sa Tokyo eh, makakabili ka ng hentai na komiks. So, hindi ako mag-tataka kung yung computers na inuwi ng 2 Pinoy na yun eh may smut. Sana, nai-format muna yung HDD bago nila inuwi. Then again, magagawa lang nila ito kung marunong silang kumalikot at mag-operate ng PC.
AIRLINE TIPS
Some things can only be checked while others can only be shipped via air cargo. Check with the Airline if you think you’re bringing something questionable, you’ll need to follow their guidelines. Some items may get you in serious trouble with airport security and under federal law, you must declare any hazardous materials you are carrying or shipping to the airline. Violations can carry a huge fines and prison time.
You should bring laptop on board as a carry-on, but make sure the batteries are good. You may have to demonstrate that electronic items such as laptops and video cameras are what they look like by showing that they work. Hence the need for good batteries. Any electronic devices that aren’t in working order will look suspicious to security. Security screenings are supposed to leave computers unharmed, but you might ask for a manual inspection.
