Yup. Weather Forecaster. I wanted to stay safe and work in air conditioned locations.

Unfortunately, I found out too late the Army did not have their own weather folks. The AF provided weather support. Almost every deployment I had was with an Army unit.

Worked on my meteorology degree slowly. By the time I retired, I had my degree plus 19 years of experience. Got an internship with a company when we first moved here who then decided to hire and keep me.

I meant reference material. Good modelers always have good reference material. Tank tracks especially. Most model kits have rubberized tank tracks with questionable detail on them. Some tracks have individual links you have to glue together. Those are the best. But, the kits are expensive.

A little fact about the T-72

Because of the way the autoloader on the T-72 was designed, the semi-combustible propellant case for its ammunition was arrayed on a carousel at the bottom of the turret basket, and exposed. That’s bad for the ammo, and really bad for the crew if there is any explosion aboard.

You'd think with that kind of vulnerability, the tanks would stick to combined operations with infantry. At least the latter can cover their flanks.
