A pleasant surprise. My old unassembled model kits turned up inside one of the bins in our rental storage.
Nice mix of brands: Revell, Italeri, Tamiya, Hasegawa, MPC, Testor.....
Edit:
I looked up to see how much that USS Voyager model kit would cost. I learned it (original release) has long been out of production. It now costs $120. Cool. I guess I'm not going to assemble it.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; October 13th, 2014 at 02:18 PM.

Cool. I also have a lot more unassembled model kits at the basement of my uncle's house in Nevada. Among them are the Star Wars X-Wing (the big one) and the Tie Interceptor.
I have a habit of buying kits on impulse and then forgetting they existed. I might have assembled them earlier. But, someone stole my Paasche airbrush during one of my moves. I haven't gotten around to buying a new one yet.
Interestingly, I used to have a bunch of Japanese WW2 aircraft model kits. When I moved to South Korea, the local movers destroyed every single one of them while leaving all my other kits untouched. When I confronted them about it, they played that language barrier bit and wouldn't look me in the eye. It seems to me the Koreans still have a deeply seated hatred for anything that reminds them of WW2 Japan.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; October 13th, 2014 at 09:59 PM.

I might've been to the San Diego base exchange when I was a kid. Never been to Miramar though.
My dad retired at NAS Fallon where Top Gun is now. Back then, the exchange was so small, I can go through it in less than two minutes....so boring. The commissary has gotten a lot bigger. But, it's still meh. There's a dedicated Philippine goods store at Fallon itself. Very popular with the Fil-Ams.

Oh I see! That explains why the brembo pads seem to have a different design. The original Akebono...
