i'm a die-hard fanatic for my school when it comes to sports. kaso lang sa basketball lang kami magaling...regardless, i catch every televised game i can and pray we make it to the NCAA tournament.

oh, magaling din kami sa lacrosse and crew but no one watches that.

i also admit that i avidly follow the academic rankings. i think it's natural that people want to feel good about their school and the choice they made/money they spent. also, a good reputation helps you in the business world because it's their name on your resume.

finally, i have a soft spot for fellow alums because i really felt like i was part of a family when i was there.

i do admit that you could be proud of your school for all the wrong reasons though

Vince: Kung ako prinsipal sisipain din kita sa skwela hehe, manyak na pilosopo pa HAHAH :D .. then again, malamang ako din mapapatalsik sa kahit anong school hehe.

Wag muna isama ang politika mga tsong hehe work at school lang...

yeah. iused to raise an eyebrow pag nakakarinig ako ng mga friends na mashadong inaassociate ang pagiging magaling ng isang tao lalo na pag galing sa alma mater nila... like this friend of mine...a die hard "isko ng bayan" then nung mag med school naging -in terms of school- "lasallista". lolz. i can just imagine her disappointment siguro...

To borrow a biblical line, "let the school who has no flaw cast the first stone".

Schools don't have a monopoly on morality and values. Pointless namang magmalaki or ikahiya nang sobra kung galing ka sa ganitong eskwela, lahat naman ng institutions may kanya-kanyang strengths annd weaknesses. Basta ang importante kung ano yung kinalabasan mo ngayon. Even unschooled persons can become decent members of society, based on how they were molded by family, friends and their general attitude toward life.

nasa tao pa rin talaga at wala sa pinasukang paaralan...yung iba nakapagtapos pero parang walang pinag aralan...meron namang di man lang nakatuntong ng h.s. eh daig pa minsan ang pinagaralan...

sa trabaho naman loyalty stays as long as your connected with that company...kapag sinampal ka na ng mas malaking kwuarta ng kalaban eh talagang lilipat ka...pera pera lang iyan 'ika nga...

for me I just go to that school, study, learn what I should know and then leave and pursue whatever I want to be with...

I never attached myself to any school that I've been to...for me they are just a tool, I dont need to have any sentimental feeling that I am a part of that school coz I knew that they may not even know me or recognize me unless I've done a spectacular thing like making a time machine....on that case maybe all of the schools that I attended to may say that I am their good alumnus....hehehehe

Same with work, just a professional thing, I dont take sides, dont do politics (well an officemate of mine told me that I am not a politician thats why I havent got the post my boss wants me to have...) I just do whatever I need to do and get paid for it....

mamya may makarinig sa yo na sa school XYZ ka at puro mayaman lang andun makidnap ka pa hehehe

yeah... I've encountered so many peeps na ganito. ang hirit ko ... "Hachu! (sneeze) Sorry, I'm alergic to BS!" hehehe just joking :D

Well, what I do is I ride with them hehehe. Let them hear what they want to hear. Magsasawa rin yun... "Ows talaga? An ganda pala ng school ninyo! An galeng naman ng company nyo! Sana dun na lang ako nagtratrabaho! an swerte mo naman!" Pointless kase makipag argue. And sometimes, you earn their trust and you become friends ... o di ba? hehehe Manipulative ba?

I think people like these are trying to compensate for something ... maybe they were'nt good in their class or something, and just because they went to this school they can be called a genuis! Or they maybe financially mediocre, but since they got into XYZ school, they can be looked at as a "wealthy successful person".

Most of the time people I've met people who are rich and successful napakasimple lang nila. they never say a thing. magugulat ka nalang, CEO pala sya. kaya mahirap yun nagyayabang ka. minsan, papasok sa hotel naka-tsinelas lang pero yun pala pnp regional director! iisnubin ng desk clerk kase parang di sya makakabayad pero he does'nt know who his talking to.

tignan mo si jesus, when he came here to earth he could've descended from heaven wearing a golden robe with a big gold crown on his head sitting on a big golden chair... but he came as a son of a carpenter ...
