magalaw daw talaga tectonic plates sa area na yan. kase nga kasama yan sa ring of fire. talagang lilindol dyan kahit walangg JI or Abu Sayaf. sa National Geographic Channel, they're predicting that an island off the coast of Africa will fall to the sea when the volcanoe on that island erupts, and it will create a mega tsunami that will hit the US east coast, travelling at 800 mph. and it's gonna be a lot bigger than the one that hit asia last december. sad thing is they can't predict when its gonna happen.

I've heard this when one of the geologist was interviewed after the TSUNAMI on December hit several countries in asia and africa. The US east coast was reported as not being equipped with a TSUNAMI detection Devices/TSUNAMI WARNING DEVICE(however you call it) kasi hindi raw prone compared to the WEST COAST but President BUSH ordered that the EAST COAST should also have these detecting devices. Ang key lang naman daw kasi if something like this happens is to warn people ahead of time to be able to move out from places near the shore.
