Suspension..

Body panels kapag may dent/binangga, PDR as early as possible

Detailing..

Mechanicals.. Replace asap kasi madami madadamay iba kapag hindi inayos kaagad. (based on experience)

(During t-belt removal, re-grease fan, replace water pump)

You don't believe that oil "expire" after 3-4mos?

    BTT:
noon nag sisimula pa sa kotse, i wait for symptoms to come out before replacing pero minsan grabe kasi may ibang parts nadadamay lalo na pag suspension, tuloy tuloy ang pilit, bushing, ball joint, rocker arm tapos minsan pati shocks.

on engine parts if i feel something not right sa makina i usually have it check and replace, mahilig kasi ako noon mag out of town trip mahirap na masiraan sa kawalan.

I also use to buy replacement parts or surplus, kaso one time nung pinalitan ko starter and solenoid muntik na ako itirik sa San Fernando Pampanga at 10pm. buti konting dasal lang umandar naman ulet. after that i always buy original parts kahit mahal mas may peace of mind.
In my experience, there are replacement parts that lasted longer than original parts. Like in the case of G4's wheel bearing and radiator fan motor and other parts. Also, engine air filters, as long as you change them regularly (mine every 3mos)... Will come out more economical.

oil does not expire, tignan mo nga container walang expiry tag.

regular diesel oil can last a year or so basta gamitin mo dipstick at i-feel mo yun oil sa daliri mo, pag medyo metallic at super itim, palitin na yun.

though my other 2 PPVs are also low-mileage, coz I live in the city condo eh, di naman ako gano na-traffic

Manual/Casa recommendation... 5k km or 3mos...whichever comes 1st...so you don't follow this also?

No bad intentions here, I'm just asking.

    I'm not challenging your expertise.

Racket ng casa yan. Manufacturer’s recommendation is change oil every 5k km or 10k km depending on the vehicle.

Our VW diesel car has a 15k km or 12 month change oil cycle. With my turbo gas car, I just change oil every 10k km (or roughly every year) which has no difference when I followed changing oil every 6 months with the casa for 2 years.

    I see.

My old man told me, if you can afford it... Cut everything in half, but I'm lousy in math so I changed my oil at 4k km (regular oil) and 8k km whenever I use fully synthetic oils in my 1995 Sentra ... Still purrs like a cat to this day, engine still untouched, currently 140k km mileage

    Just sharing.

No worries, there'll be next time.

My mechanic's practice is, what ever he take out or replace he neatly place in the trunk. When I asked him about this, he said it's his way of showing trustworthiness. You see some cheating mechanics will say they replaced parts, then show the customer old parts from someone else who left the old parts (I hope not the parts you left hehehe)

Sometimes I change oil, then use it for say 3wks, then leave my car in my garage for a year without use. Before I reuse my car I'll change the oil. This is my practice, just sharing.

    Thanks for sharing bro.

For me, every 5KKm or one year whichever comes first, oil change using semi-synthetic oil.

basta pag sa suspension, madalas sabay sabay palit bushings pag may sira ang shocks.
kumbaga baseline ko yun shocks, pag bumigay tutal baklas na naman lahat; palit nalang rubber bushings and links since mura naman. yun mga balljoints and rackend etc palit din pag may play na para isang bayaran nalang din sa labor.

sa fuel pump, kung umabot na ng lampas 100k km/200k km palitan narin; tapos backup nalang yun luma. since last 2 cars ko 2nd hand ko nabili, mahirap maabutan ng problema. mahirap na baka lagi sagad sa empty bago mag pa gas yun previous owner so malamang walang lubrication madalas yun pump.

I mostly DIY everything. Oci on motor is every year using full synth, atf drain and refill every 2 years and the rest is every 3-4 years. I have a complete set of tools and my BIL is a Honda/Acura tech so he does the major engine, tranny and air bags issues.
