Well because they've generalized that hired help doesn't posses the ethics of a civilized society, therefore they have no right to use the civilized folks elevator.

People with godlike complex can do that here. Somebody is going to get sued and pay if discriminatory rule like this is applied there.

So, they're kind of like my own mom before she came around. She used to look down on our hired help when I was there. At some point (after I left), she changed her mind and started nurturing them, putting them through college. Now, those same hired help have businesses of their own and are some of my mom's best friends. One of them visits every month and helps my mom around the yard.

Last night I watched in horror as Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino dragged my sister Kathy Garrido's name through muck and mire because of a memo she sent requesting unit owners of the Icon Residences condominium to advise their household employees to strictly use the service elevator only.

The team of Aquino and Abunda castigated my sister as if she had committed murder for sending out a memo implementing a policy that is implemented in condominiums, hotels, hospitals etc.

Kris should know that. She's a condominium dweller herself. I don't see construction workers riding the elevator in One Roxas or Essensa when I go there. A service elevator is no different from a guest or passenger elevator. It's there so that traffic and security are better managed.

In fact, in hotels, the cleaners to GM himself use the service elevator. A well-dressed couple in americana and evening clothes will be annoyed if a construction worker hauls his paints and brushes with matching ladder into the elevator with them, right?

And how would you feel if you rode a hospital elevator and they wheel a corpse in? I know Ms. Aquino and Mr. Abunda were doing this to gain points with the viewing public, but their lack of working knowledge might just backfire on them.

Also, they persecuted one of the nicest people on earth, and I'm saying this not just because she's my sister. A lot of people have been calling and texting me saying that they misjudged a truly fine lady. I've never even heard her raise her voice at any of our household employees, and she's always generous with her praise and thank you's as well.She was just doing her job as a property manager by sending out that memo.

These policies and procedures are implemented by the condo board and management, not one person alone. I've been talking to several condo dwellers and I'm compiling a list of condo buildings, hotels and hospitals that have that policy too. I will send it to Aquino and Abunda so that they can read out the names of these condos on their show to be fair naman to Icon Residences and Kathy as well who has been called an ignoramus among other things.

Maybe it's a "trabaho lang" thing for the comic duo, but I hope they understand that Kat was doing her job as well. I haven't spoken to her yet since this happened, but I know that she's a strong Christian who won't even bother respond to all this (that's why I'm responding for her), but rather, she will leave things up to the Lord.

After all, God's word says in Isaiah 54:17: NO WEAPON THAT IS FASHIONED AGAINST YOU SHALL SUCCEED AND YOU SHALL REFUTE EVERY TONGUE THAT RISES AGAINST YOU IN JUDGEMENT. THIS IS THE HERITAGE OF THE SERVANTS OF THE LORD AND THEIR VINDICATION IS FROM ME DECLARES THE LORD.

I don't mind being in the same elevator with house help or driver. It's the rude people in the elevator that I hate. Yung maingay or ayaw tumabi at mga bastos na papasok agad ng hindi pa lumalabas sakay. Minsan mas may modo pa house help than "educated" people. We get a lot of rude people with no elevator etiquette at work.

In terms of maingay at ayaw tumabi, kahit naman hindi maids eh may mga ganyang tao eh. Minsan kung sino pa yung mga agents sila pa yung dakdak ng dakdak sa elevator...

What I hate are those that have absolutely ZERO elevator etiquette.
They'll barge in without allowing people to get out first.
They'll barge in a crowded elevator while wearing a bulky backpack. And most of the time, yung mga naka backpack ang lilikot pa.
They're going UP, pero they'll press both UP and DOWN buttons para siguradong may elevator na titigil sa floor nila.
They'll ride on the ground floor, but they'll get off the 17th floor. Yet, they insist on blocking the door of the elevator. Tapos pag may lalabas, hindi man lang sila uusog para padaanin yung lalabas...as if they'll get left behind.
They'll occupy opposite corners of the elevator. Then they'll hold a loud conversation, even if the elevator is crowded.
