Agree ako diyan. I didn't grow up sa Pinas but during holidays eto ang parating stop namin. I enjoyed the simple life talaga. For times that there were very few malls, no cellphones, mp3 players etc..etc.. it was actually a happy time!
I remembered that most of our commercials were either sabon pang laba or mga chichirya like Granny Goose. I enjoyed watching Smurfs, Thundercats, Care Bears, Gi Joe, Rambo, Uncle Bob's Lucky 7 Club...etc..etc. Dati sila Gary V. ay madalas namin bisitahin sa studio nila and my ninong Val Sotto would visit me often. I missed fishballs that cost 1 peso for 10pcs and the glass bottled 1 liter Magnolia Chocolait.
I think it was only SM Cubao, SM North, Ali Mall, Greenhills and Plaza Fair, right? Let's not forget our Fiesta Carnival.
Parang ngayon kasi life is on both extremes, minsan to fast paced and minsan it's too slow. Dati wala problema sa employment pero ngayon lahat ng mga kabataan at mga nasa nearing 30's eh ang job mostly na babagsakan nila eh puro call centers. No offense sa mga working CC peeps pero nakakabulok lang ng utak dun. Madali lang sabihin na may career ka dun pag pera lang ang tinitidnan mo ngayon pero in the long haul don't expect your 5-10yr stint with a call center to be a colorful resume when you want to work for REAL premium companies like mine.

I skipped the New Wave trend of time, preferring classic rock and 80's alternative plus some metal.
But, when it came to movies, I was pure mainstream.......
Bachelor Party (Tom Hanks)
The Molly Ringwald movies (16 Candles, The Breakfast Club)
Risky Business (Tom Cruise)
The National Lampoon's Vacation movies
Revenge of the Nerds
Plus...... I thought Kim Carnes was a total hottie. She's old now. But, it's easy to tell she was a hottie at one time.
