I've always had the impression that Indians are good number crunchers and analysts, which is probably why they make great engineers and IT specialists.

My HS crush in RP was a tall, slender, long-legged, very dark, and gorgeous girl with Hindu blood. Tsk Tsk. D*mn. If only I wasn't scared to death of her 8(?) brothers.

February 27th, 2008 04:55 PM #47Question: Is there such a thing a someone who is a "bit" of a racist?
Isn't it either you are or not?
Just a question so I hope you don't mind but how many degrees of racism is allowed before it becomes intolerable? For example, if a "bit" of racism is okay how is a "bit" defined?

^ I guess that depends on the level of personal insult and how much you have been offended, or have offended others. If it was just a petty thing like being overheard then it's tolerable but if it was intentionally done then cuts deeper.
People have biases and preferences, some just don't know how to keep it to themselves. The moment you let it out and people hear and see you express your own ignorance then to them you are a racist, irregardless of whether it was just a simple petty thing or something more injurious. It's the act of doing, saying or displaying your hatred towards a person of certain ethnicity, race, religion, etc...basically all in the form of hate crimes. Just like an act, it's either you do it or not, there's no "bit" but maybe to those who do it or have been at the receiving end it can be tolerated, but that already depends on the recipient.
People remember bad things but easily forget good ones, remember that.

I think it's best that if you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.

i think discrimination is part of us humans.
Maybe it's evolutionary.
Humans are tribal.
Hostility is a default reaction to outsiders. Ancient nature natin yan e.
We, modern civilized humans, have to control our ancient nature.
Just keep it inside. Dont verbalize.
