It's nice to be critical of the government and kahit sino pa anjan magiging critical ako... based on what I'm reading now... All of government's action is pretty reactive... walang pro active approach...

Now dun sa nag-point na I don't care about the news... And you don't have to point out that the government is doing something... What the government is doing is not enough according to my standards...

having a high but unrealistic standard will set you up for disappointment everytime. having that will also make you critical of anybody no matter what they do.

and being critical without having all the facts, or at least as much information as you can have, makes you have uninformed opinions/ideas/decisions.

This is not exclusive to Pinoys ...

The UK sent warships from Gibraltar, including an aircraft carrier, for the evacuation of its citizens in Lebanon.

Considering that the first ship to get there was a destroyer that was passing through Suez Canal, and that the immediate drop-off point is only at Cyprus, you'd expect Brits in Lebanon to be out in no time.

And yet, people are complaining about the slowness of it.

taas ng standards mo bro. probably unrealistic...
are you considering migrating to another country and denounce your filipino citizenship? la lang, kasi i believe in the saying that if you don't like the system, then move out of the system, unless you can change the system. but then, if you change the system, there would be someone who would be critical of your new set system, and the cycle continues....

What the article wants is sympathy from us and a look on what they are feeling now... Indifference to them ang nakapag bad trip sakin in the first place.

Would me posting "sympathetic" lines such as:

"Kawawa naman ang mga OFW sa Lebanon."
    "P.I. gobyerno ito walang ginagawa."
"Dapat ilikas lahat ng OFW dun"

have made any difference towards the plight of OFWs in Lebanon? This quote sums it up: "For too long the world has expressed sympathy without action."

How can you say that the government is not doing enough when you don't read the news or don't want us to point out the efforts being done by them?

hahahaha ang laki ng problema nyo sa mga sinasagot ko sasakit lang ulo nyo sa kakasagot... ngayon if your channeling all your posts in reacting to what I say about the government then I guess hahaba lang ng hahaba ang thread nato for bashing the government.

Now for those who sympathize with the OFWs plight... vigilance lang ang kailangan para masagap kung ano ang nangyayari sa mga kapwa pinoy natin sa middle east.

Now if you think of OFW's reaction if they will stay or no... That's Pinoy culture at its worst... What mentality....

Kaya nga dapat DECISIVE ang government... Expect the worst, i-evacuate na lahat kahit ayaw nila. Now what we need here is some kind of martial law to discipline them and force them to evacuate... That's the best thing to do to prevent more casualties, prevent media focusing on small numbers of pinoy na matigas ang ulo tapos magrereklamo na nde sila natulungan ng gobyerno...

Now I am not aware when this war started but judging at the time line of how things are unfolding.... The government still has a slow reaction....

Even the most informed individuals will tend to stick to what they believe to be true and flush out what they don't perceive to be true :worried:

I just pity those OFW's trapped there.... kaya rin siguro ayaw bumalik kasi gutom lang din aabutin nila dito.... I dont expect that our government could do better compared to other countries that already are evacuating their people why? coz we arent called a third world nation for nothing.... :D

you and i agree on this, at least. kung hindi pala natin kayang kunin ang mga gusto magpa-evacuate, baket ngayon lang humingi ng tulong ang government natin. more than a week na yang conflict eh.

Kaya nga jan pumapasok yung current action ng government natin e....

Does the government have a comprehensive evacuation plan?

Even if we are a third world nation, we have people with bright minds and some with education & experience from first world nations... Ngayon ang tanong jan e can they do change to the system to upgrade our status, even our way of government? I think they can wag lang sila maging sakim sa pera at position.

    fd: nice one ..

the ofw who wrote to the inq is in malaysia .. and as much as he sympathizes with his fellow ofw in the middle east .. he has no idea what the situation there is .. i'm frustrated as well at the apparent slowness of the evacuation process .. but evacuation really is a painful process .. parang ang dali kasi mag-mobilize at mag-evacuate ng mga tao .. EB nga lang dito eh hirap na .. paano pa kaya ang paglikas ng libo-libong tao .. it's not just about money .. it's about physical resources .. kahit mag-release pa si arroyo ng 150M .. wala pa rin tayong sariling eroplano or barko .. so we are still at the mercy of those who have .. at pipila pa rin tayo ..

Now you have to attack the problem.

My gut feel is that there is an apparent lack of communication. Pero syempre kailangan muna comprehensive evacuation plan & action plan. Then the government should try to disseminate the information as quickly as possible and to the largest number of audience. Anjan ang international media, local media, internet, radio, tv, etc. etc.

When people believe that the government is really sincere in helping the OFWs then probably they can change their minds and evacuate rather than risk their lives.

Now if I can see that from the government then I maybe satisfied that they are doing their job. Now I want to see real action done, not empty promises.
