Any comments?
Well, para dun sa mga gustong bumili, we bought the 8 feet model, ang saya-saya ng bunso naming 2 years old.
What are the problems?
Well, first off you must be prepared to waste 670 + galons of perfectly good water, hehehe...
You have to change it na.
You'll notice some yellowish slippery substance at the bottom of the pool, yan yata yung tinatawag nila na "mustard algae" sya yung nagpapadumi at nagpapabaho ng pool.
Next we bought a foamy-rubbery material from ACE hardware para maprotektahan yun ilalim nya ( yun yung parang puzzle block ang hitsura). One set costs P250 kaya naka-P1,250 kami para magkasya sya.
Then you have to buy a cover. We bought a bubble wrap from National tapos masking tape namin para magkasya pang-cover.
After a few days, may nakita kaming binebenta sa SM Makati na pangtakip sa floor nya at sun cover. But we just bought our cover and mat kaya sayang naman so we decided to wait... nung naghiwa-hiwalay na yung bubble wrap we decided to get the intex sun cover na lang so we went to SM Makati kaya lang wala na daw available para sa bilog na pool. The salesman suggested we get a mat na lang and use if for cover. E ang layo ng price, halos 1k sya compared to a real covering which costs just P500 so we again decided to wait.
Pumangit na yung bubble wrap so we finally decided to get the mat na lang to be used as a cover, when we went to SM Makati, wala na din daw! Badtrip talaga.

Then we searched for chlorine granules kasi the children kept accidentally drinking the water!
We're still looking for algaecides kasi ayoko na bumalik sa pinagbilhan namin ng chlorine... sobrang tagal ako pinaghintay dahil they usually cater to big companies and it was like they didn't know how to sell their chlorine granules for personal use. Nahiya na ko bumalik, hehehe...
Now we're looking at Intex pool filters. They're being pulled out of SM department stores, as one salesman told me... so the problem is, where can we get the filters for the pump if they stop selling them?
I'm thinking of just getting the Arowana Pumps they sell at ACE hardware worth P2,200 then connect it to the blue canisters worth P700 where you put different types of filters. Then from the filter the water would be returned to the pool, thus removing some particulate matter and most of the algae.
My problem is, will the pump (which can siphon 40 LPM) give enough push for the water to be filtered effectively? Baka kasi sobrang bagal...
Second problem is, I'm very hesitant in immersing any electrical appliance inside a body of water... what if the seals get busted tapos the wiring would get in contact with the water?
Any other ideas?

Pinaka the best is Salt, kaya lang need mo Chlorinator so mas expensive, suggestion lang sir hehe!
And you need to test the pH ng water sir at least once a week.

May 15th, 2010 10:34 AM #10a submersible pump can suck water out from a pool while being submerged... standard use yan... for added protection, you can connect it to a circuit breaker na may GFI (ground fault interruptor).. a few milliamps short circuit pa lang ma trace na nya at cut off agad ang supply ng current.. therefore may level of protection... the ordinary circuit breakers (na mabibili sa mga suking hardware) only cut off the current when the maximum current rating has been reached (so say, 15amps).. assuming in a scenario na may tao sa pool at nag short, by the time the breaker cuts off current, it is too late, nakadaan na ang 15amps.... with the GFI, a few milliamps pa lang (which is still relatively safe), cut off agad ang kuryente... mas malaking chance na walang damage or irreparable injury ...
trade off lang, for a 15A or 30A rated GFI breaker, it's about 2 - 3x the price of a similarly rated ordinary circuit breaker... =(
that may be, but we all got plastic, young and old. we asked the lto guy, "papel ba po, o...
