    since malapit na bigayan ng mga bonus,
    para sa mga employed who usually get their bonuses;
    though this is a company prerogative.

    How would you react if one day your boss appeared to you and said,
    for the year (2007 and 2008) there will be no;

    a) BONUS
    b) Company outing
    c) salary increase

    I would say.........

    "Sir nagbibiro ka ba? Tawagan ko si Ma'm, ikukuwento ko yung nakita ko noon nu'ng kasama mo yung ***y-tary mo."

    Hindi...siguro tanungin ko na lang siya kung bakit wala yung A,B & C. Tanungin ko rin siguro kung bankrupt na o palugi na opis namin. Tapos sabay tanong "Sir....yung X-Mas party wala rin ba? Kahit sa Jolibee na lang."

    I'll also ask kung bakit wala, if valid ang reason, then id let it be. Pero kung walang kuwenta ang dahilan.....RESIGN!

    been there, done that. happened to me in 2002.

    the financial markets were down and the company was in serious belt-tightening mode. to make a long story short, i asked myself whether this was a company i believed in, and whether i trusted them to also take care of/make it up to me in the good times as well.

    the answer to both answers was yes, so i sucked it up and moved on. they did take care of me with some nice option packages the next year, so i'm happy

    if you are talking about (A) Bonus = 13th month pay. Hindi pwede mawala yun. hehehehe. mandated by law yun.

    other bonuses are outside of what is mandated by law and is discretionary. so kung wala talaga, eh di wala. we just have to be thankful that we still have our jobs. yun nga lang tuyo ang pasko.

    sa company outing naman, ganun din yun. this is a discretionary employee benefit. and most of the time, hindi naman ako sumasama eh.

    sa salary increases naman, ganun pa din. discretionary pa din yan depende sa performance ng company. although experience ko dito sa former company ko is 3 years akong hindi nabigyan ng increase dahil mainit mata sa akin ng company president, pero ok lang.

    gaya nga ng sabi ko, it's a blessing that i still have a job.

    nga pala. pag hindi nagbigay ng 13th month pay yung company nyo, sumbong nyo sa DOLE. bawal yan.

    although, afaik, the payment of a 13th month pay depends on the employment status of an employee. Usually, from Proby to Regular binibigay yan. Pero pag consultant basis, walang ganyan. Normally, for consultants, the 13th month is factored into 12 months and is payable monthly. Pero depende pa din sa consulting company.
