How's your BP? Since you already got symptoms, why not the simpler Roche test w/ results in a coupla hours? Might help calm you down faster. It's next best to RT-PCR w/ practically no waiting, cheap, too. If unconvinced, then swab(I've seen both false +s & -s 1st hand). No need for anxiety. Tests are just to know the attention needed & whether to isolate or not. Get well soon, ma'am.

    ... what am i saying...!

    also,
    get yourself some flue shots.
    they work!
since i started getting flue shots, i haven't been absent sick from work.
before that, i would get sick once to thrice a year.
Ako rin. Before, when I get hit with the flu, I’m down almost a week then my hika follows. I also plan for the pneumonia shots kaya lang out of stock pa. May kamahalan lang.

some experts frown on using covid antibody tests to determine for covid antigen (infection).
to use the test to determine antibody level is fine.
but to extrapolate the results for antigen's presence...
the pgh folks have determined an un-acceptable, measely 20% pick-up rate.
sabi nga ni boss, "mag-toss coin na lang kayo. at least doon, 50-50 na tama kayo."

There's a lab local to us here that has the Roche Elecsys. They do home/workplace service * P750ea. Results in a coupla hours. Results1.0 are considered positive. Results in between are considered suspicious. Off the record & from their empirical data observed, they explained that those tested0.4 had a high probability to be retested positive after a few days. Those who test high, say 20 upwards, were likely to have had it awhile, on recovery or recovered.
RT PCR is the gold standard, but not foolproof. Had a relative & friend w/ symptoms who sought testing. Results came negative...but both ended up fighting for their lives in the ICU for weeks....confirmed positive in retests. Another swabbed positive w/ no symptoms, had the Roche as 2nd opinion right after swab results...negative. Then had a 2nd swab test after the Roche negative(3 tests in a coupla days just to have peace of mind)....reconfirmed NEGATIVE....A 4th test, the 3rd swab days after...NEGATIVE. Imagine the roller coaster...& whew...relief.
Yes, RT PCR is probably the most reliable... the sample handling may not always be.

Thanks travs. My BP is normal naman (120/80) Akala ko wala ng false positive pag 7 days from exposure? Although tomorrow is the 6th day pa lang.

wow, 10% of the cost of the swab. Mine is P7500. Yung kay gongrhey, P9000. Akala ko nasa P2000 lang swab test, mamumulubi nga companies if they have to do that regularly sa employees

The luckiest ones are those who tested positive yet felt nothing. The negatives? Temporary....One is only such during the time of testing....and can only hope & pray to be among the asymptomatics should infection catch.

    that, it would seem.

Good to know, 1 concern less. This virus is a generous giver of crazy random symptoms....uncontrollable raised BP among em.

True, doc....still very much in the dark. No amount of care, caution & OCD seems to be enough against this. Anything I'd miss, I'd have to leave it up to HIM.[emoji121][emoji120]

Nakakatakot naman pero if positive tao wala rin naman gamot, yung immune system lang talaga. I don't know how I could boost mine

Nade depress na talaga ako kasi napaka OC at paranoid ko to the point na people find it ridiculous, then this happened pa rin

Tired, after a spirited drive going back home. I could have gone faster but my wife disapproves. It took me an hour and 45 minutes from Floridablanca to BF Homes.
