I wouldn't agree with the elite clubMy dad's family is picky with doctors. Just like lawyers hindi lahat magaling. So just because a person has a medical degree, doesn't mean he or she gets my respect automatically. I look at the reputation, education and values. May mga doctor din na opposite of elite, ewan ko how they got their degree

elite, as in, exclusive for doctors, po.
"we know each another.. strengths and weaknesses..."
and, fortunately for us, "the unsuspecting public does not!"
heh heh.
i'm not going to say that this doctor is bad.
instead, i'll say, "dr soenso will fit our needs".
just like in other professions, some folks work more harmoniously with this or that folk.
ganun lang yon.

How do doctors from private hospitals view doctors from small public hospitals (except the elite ones like PGH, Heart Center or Kidney institute etc)
May biruan kasi kami in our family na pag pumunta ka sa (small government hospital in Makati) ng buhay, pag labas mo patay ka na HAHAHA. Minsan lokohan pa namin, we're taking you to (small government hospital in Makati) Pikon pikon Mom ko because she works for the local government of Makati.

Patay General Hospital.
Patay city General Hospital.
infirMatay (a campus establishment).
me and my colleagues, captains of the practice all that, state with all truth, that we do NOT, in any way, look down on these physicians who toil in the small hospitals or government hospitals. we can only take pride, and are humbled, that some of them still make house calls in the dead of night, by taking several-hour-long horse rides or foot treks across rivers.
most of us are not in it for the money. we are in it for the service and personal professional pride. believe it, guys.
what i do with/to the patient, is my reward.
the money, while convenient, comes second.
i have also talked to some of these "shall-we-call-them-underprivileged" doctors.
i have only the best respect for them.
they see things in their patients that i would not have thought of.
by the very nature of the patient, the government hospital is already at a disadvantage.
the patient comes in... already in the later stage of the disease.. inhabiting a body that is, even if it were not suffering from the illness at hand, is already in an obvious state of under-health.. and comes from a neighborhood reeking of sub-standard personal and community hygiene..
if said government hospital were to have the same type of patients that the big medical centers had, these statistics would be markedly improved.
if the big medical centers had these types of double-whammy patients, i'll bet their batting average would tumble down.
but yes,
government hospitals need funds.

I visit my ortho at BGC for my routine check up post-op.
LOL at Patay City General hospital. I have high respect for barrio/far flung area doctors but what I meant are those in the city who practice in small hospitals. I wonder if among doctors may advantage din those that come from elite schools and surnames. Si Dr Cutie parang nagc clinic lang not for the money e. He's so bad ass haha, ayaw daw niya ng maraming patients LOL. Well, he is a surgeon, I remember what you said, mas malaki kita nila sa procedure

May factor ata apelyido like with my dentist, their surname is known as dentists talaga. Meron din derma na since kopong kopong known na family nila in that line.

ganito kasi yun... your parents/grandparents move in a small circle of society where everyone knows each other and refer each other to the same doctors and dentists
kaya puro oldies mga kilala mo coz those are your parents' and grandparents' doctors and dentists
kaya na-shock ka when people said there are doctors who go to the states para maging nurse
kasi sa circle mo there's no such thing
lagi ko sinasabi diba you live in a bubble
Yes! Nagulat ako Lola ni UF and I have the same cardio nga LOL. Buti nagre refer na sila sa mga bata which by their standards is 50s haha
Nakwento ko sayo, my dentist doesn't know item kami ng son niya. Pero son niya nakilala ko else where. Awkward naman to tell him.

Naawa raw sya kasi cramped yung charity ward at mukhang mainit.
