OB has been a troll through and through, for the past 10 years. It's obvious that you shouldn't be taking him seriously.

If OB makes snide remarks, and you fight back, it doesn't matter. Calling him an imbecile or maligning his intellect is pointless because you're attacking a mere front. That's only his persona here in the forums, which in all likeliness, is completely different from how he is in real life - that's how online trolls are.

Reacting to OB's ridiculous remarks implies that something in what he said strikes a nerve, thus revealing more about you than it does him. It's very easy to ignore a troll, but for some reason, countless people fall into his trap and take him too seriously.

The thing is, just because trolls are what they are, it doesn't mean that they should be given free reign to run roughshod over our beloved forum. Ive ignored the vast majority of his posts but for a few that were directed at me. And i will tell you now, no matter what the outcome is, i don't let these matters slide. I am colorful in my use of language to emphasize and drive home a point since normal reason doesn't work on him. Whether it works or not is merely secondary to me. The fact that i will stand up for myself (and others) is more of consequence.

And since you have taken time out to be frank with me, id like to return the favor. I and others feel that the moderators have been too generous with the troll. You yourself have defined him as one. He has repeatedly baited other well respected members here. He does his best (using twisted logic and statements he draws out from thin air) to turn regular folk's experiences here into a negative one. Healthy forums where good ideas are exchanged are being hijacked. He does his best to turn people's positive experience about their vehicle choices into ash.

Edward Burke once said :" the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." And while we are not talking about existential good and evil over here, i use this phrase to drive home my point. Others who have the means - and are charged with responsibility of doing something about this - will do and continue to do nothing.
