    Vinyl...steer clear of obvious water damage risk...you won't want sweat absorption on your gym floor & turn it into some culture lab, sir.

    why is vinyl more hygienic pala? I thought hindi pwede mabasa?

    Hindi pala pwede sakin vinyl kasi madalas ako maka spill sa flooring

    Always thought that tiles were more hygienic before because of the sleek, shiny finish and being easier to clean. But apparently vinyl has antimicrobial properties. Antistatic too, so it protects expensive hospital equipment.

    Yes, they're required to use the weldable vinyl in rolls for hygiene. Wall to floor jointline is curved to avoid dirt deposits. It's non-absorbent, impact resistant yet softer than ceramic tiles....which will have too many joints/grout lines.

    Oh, so it's the joints that are unhygienic for tiles. Makes sense. I just wonder about the durability of vinyl long term. They don't seem to be that abrasion resistant. But probably not an issue indoors.

    There are some tiles (& grout as well) that are antibacterial too, but majority hindi.
