Do you know na Yung taba nyan (fats), kinatatakutan din ng cattle (baka, kalabaw)? So, dahil mga bata pa, out of curiosity & to have some proof, we scattered a few pieces of fats (secretly, isinabit sa mga shrubs), sa daanan ng mga kalabaw.
Ha ha. Totoo pala. Kahit anong palo nung sakay nung kalabaw, ayaw umabante nung alaga nya, at nakataas yung ulo at tenga na parang galit.

I have this askal before I got married.
Once, it suffered from severe pulgas (yung maliit) and some garapata infestation.
What I did was to give them regular baths using ordinary dog soap from the supermarket.
But what I use in their final rinsing is water where I mashed kakawate (madre de cacao) leaves.
We used kakawate extract in our winning science project in highschool to kill mosquito larvae so I thought, why not use it for pulgas.

It wont kill the pulgas and garapata but it will kill their eggs and the larvae (at least that is my theory). So I basically stopped one generation from growing and reproducing.

Then I flood the surrounding area with the excess kakakwate water to kill some eggs that may have been on the ground.

My askal (RIP) did not have a bath for more than 4 years after I got married but everytime I visit my mother's house, she does not have any smell at all.

Anybody thought of tanning goat hide and making dog collars out of it?
