Recalled: Children's Havaianas flip-flops

Tue, Mar 3, 2009 (BabyCenter News) — Alpargatas USA has announced a recall of about 210,000 Havaianas children's flip-flops in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Decorative paint on the sole of the flip-flops can contain levels of lead in excess of the federal standard. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause serious health effects. No injuries have been reported.

The recall involves the following flip-flops of the Havaianas brand containing decorative paint: Baby Estampas, Baby Pets, Kids Apple, Kids Fairy, Kids Flores, Kids Lighthouse, Kids Monsters, Kids Surf, Baby Letrinhas, Kids Sports, Kids Candies, Kids Fun, Kids Love, Kids Sereias, Kids Speed, Kids Lucky Bug, Kids Pets, Kids Rock, Kids Slim, Kids Wonder Woman, Kids Small Flowers, and Kids Tropical w/Kit.

Havaianas flip-flops without decorative paint are not being recalled.

The flip-flops were sold in department and specialty stores nationwide from November 2006 through February 2009 for about $15 to $24 a pair. They were made in Brazil.

Flip-flop na pala tawag sa tsinelas ngayon. Ako hanggang tsinelas na spartan lang gamit ko na binili ng nanay ko sa palengke. Ok naman. Matibay sya. More than 1 year na di pa masyado pudpud.

Kaso na-recall yung mga kids flip-flops na may decorative paint. May excessive lead content daw yung paint.

nakabili lang ako nito nung nag sale sa trinoma eh.
almost half the price.
ok naman. tagal ko na rin gamit. pang everyday use ko sa shop.

Anyway, no i don't have a pair of this but most of the girls I know have one so i thought pang-babae lang ito. hehe.

I'm good with Duralite (yung super gaan na parang styropor) / Beachwalk or Spartan, pag napigtas, ayos lang bili ulit.

sabi ko bakit sa kanila havaianas yung akin eh havana spelling :cool01:

yung mga anak ko ayaw ng peke baka daw sila madulas :sweat:pero ako dragon naman or sun beach - mas orig to kesa beach walk 25 petot lang nyahaahhh

wala, para kasi hindi practical bumili ng tsinelas na 700 petot eh. ok na ko sa islander, mura na, matibay pa, makapal pa!

meron...mga basic and favorite colors lang para pang terno sa blouse. hehehehe. i also like ipanema. crazy nga at 1,000+...pero ok naman sa paa...except that you can't use it in trekking...lifestyle tsinelas (flip flops) nga. i tried it when we were trekking in thailand, i injured my soles. twas very painful to walk the morning after.

unlike the local habagat made slippers for trekking...no pain always a gain...
