Correct ka dyan sa shot placement, no disagreement. Comparison was made on the kinetic energy offered by the individual ammo only. It will still be up to the user kung saan siya sanay at praktisado.

Guns kill by penetrating into the body.

So long as it penetrates deep enough the caliber will kill.

Kinetic energy is relevant only in rifle ammo.

for a home defense gun stopping power comes second. first consideration should be a gun that your wife or even eldest teenager daughter can use. what use is a .45 if your wife is afraid to touch it? a .22lr semi auto rifle with a 20 round box ammo will be better than a .45 acp whose recoil your most precious girls will not be able to handle.

i shot a 1/2 inch 15 meter group on a bench rest using a .380 bersa thunder plus when my eyes were still good (no glasses yet). so if you do not mind "Made in Argentina" then this one is for you.
Actually wala pa talaga akong alam when it comes to guns.

Kinetic energy is applicable to all ammo by computation (mass & velocity).

You have a pros and cons of owning a gun. Check first if you really need to own a gun.

Dapat yung baril that will not intimidate her also. What you can do is go to pistol ranges and shoot as many handguns as you can and see which is comfortable for you.

One concept you might want to know more about is the Use of Force continuum, combining non-lethal and lethal responses. At baka baril yung final defensive option mo. First option? Walk/run away from harm

    Good kit to consider.
