Looking for a generator with the ff specs:

- 5 - 6kVA range.
- prefer diesel, but gas is ok
- easy start + manual start available
- silent type(optional)

Ano pong magandang brand, one that is serviceable with plenty of parts?

Regarding the noise: is it possible to DIY an insulation enclosure for the generator?

Malaki ba price diff between normal and inverter-type engines?

Power generators Usually last for 20k hours... On prime power...

But I don't recommend... Too many factors to consider...

Pag Mali ang pagkagawa.. It can start a fire, overheating problems, problems sa pag service sa unit.... Accessibility...

sabi kasi ng pinsan ko, bili na lang daw kami ng diesel or gas engine tapos i-convert nya.

Hmmm.... magiging compatible kaya ang alternator sa car engine sir? wala pa akong nakitang nag convert.

Sir maganda po ba yung kipor? a dealer once told me this is the #2 genset brand in China, class "A" naman daw. Di kaya problema sa piyesa?

Tried looking for Honda, they don't seem to have any (locally) beyond 3kVA.

Also tried looking at Kubota...parang wala naman less than 10kVA :p


Re car motor as generator: with enough engineering knowledge and machine shop skills, pwede siguro, but considering even a lowly 40hp engine, that's around 29kVA right? Unless you have that kind of load, parang sayang lang sa fuel.

Anyone heard of Yanmar generators? It seems to be the cheapest among the Japanese brands(Honda, Robin).

Continuous as in walang patayan? for 20,000 hours?

or what you mean is on standby power or prime power?

pag standby power as in max load ang gamit mo.. good for limited use lang pwede yan... siguro max of 3 hours... then rest mo na for 24 hour period...

pero kung on prime power you can use it for weeks... walang patayan basta after 250hrs. dapat change oil mo na...

on 10% overload naman... you can use it only for a period of 1hr.... in excess of 1hr. chances are.. mag start na mag init yung engine nyan... pero meron mga gensets naka set ang controller nya na walang over load... pag nag overload ka... mag auto shutdown yun...

the biggest generator company sa china is WEICHAI makers of DUETZ engine.. and engine for heavy equipments.

the next biggest is CUMMINS...

limited lang ang nalalaman ko pag dating sa maliit na gensets... ang Sabi sakin ang MATIBAY daw na below 10kva is... BOLIN AND YANMA. it comes from malaking manufacturing plant sa china... but not sure at iilan lang ang binenta namin na YANMA DITO.. pero so far not a single issue...

yes sir same lang yan... ayan ang expected life ng gensets...

then possible na mag overhaul na... pero mura lang ang parts ng gensets basta ang engine is 4bt,6bta,or 6LTA engine.. sa 6CTA OR 6LTA engine pang 250kva na gensets.. (ayan din ang gamit na engine ng mga heavy equipment) sa parts it will only cost 80k sa overhaul... madami kasing parts satin yan...

actually meron kaming ginagamit na genset sa planta 35kva duetz/weichai... cont. ang gamit namin dun.. mas nakaka tipid pa kasi kami kesa sa meralco power... taon na yun.. mukhang ewan na nga yung generator pero in good working condition pa din...

pinasok ng water sa may muffler? nag daan ba sa exhaust pipe?

kung hindi umabot sa engine.. wala naman masisira...

at hindi naman pinapasok ng water yun unless nalang kung naka sahod ang pagkakagawa...

at kung pa vertical ang pipe dapat may takip yun... or flopper..

kung horizontal dapat may cut na angled ang exhaust pipe...

possible naman sir...

pero hindi advisable because ang dami mo sir.... need to convert...

then yung alternator or dynamo na gagamitin nyo dapat 3600rpm... sa genset nasa 1800 lang...

hindi din tatagal ang engine.... usually a car engine last for 500k kms..

sa conversion namin ang 10,000 hrs. sa generator is equivalent na to 2,000,000 kms. na po...

bumile nalang po kayo.. iwas sakit ng ulo pa...
