    dude, thanks for lecture

i'm not gonna argue with you

i'm speaking from real world experience

we've been selling generators for years

we recommend customers buy generators bigger than their load

we've had customers who underestimated their load and burned out their generators

cost them a lot of money to repair

customers could increase load in the future

so it's always good to have spare capacity

i'm sure boybi's decision won't be based alone on answers he got from you or me

he can hire an electrician to inspect his home/business and compute load

    he's a smart, successful businessman

he's not gonna make a wrong decision and waste money

don't be so concerned about boybi wasting money

    he won't

Agree, get one with at least 2x the projected load.

hahaha. ok so the readers will know not by assumption, here's the computation.

since all of boybi's load are pure resistive, then boybi has an inductive load. and since most of it comprises motors then i will put a conservative number for power factor of 0.86

total connected loads is around 28000 watts.
    total power factor 0.86

    therefore; kva=watts/1000 x power factor
    = 28000/1000 x 0.86
    = 32.5 kva

and that is full load. if we apply 80 percent utilization then,

    our kva (new) = 32.5 x 0.8
    = 26 kva

that's is why i say 30kva is enough.

one most important thing. do not buy chinese brand. the cables and cores were mostly made of inferior materials like aluminum not copper. and when the generator heats up this materials will deteriorate faster. this is the reason why chinese will advise the buyers to buy the next higher because they know their product won't last long.

by the way, i don't care if others burn their money. its not mine and i don't care hehehe. this is for the readers. buyers who will opt to choose chinese brands, better add 10 kva to compensate the heat loss.

    again hope this help.

I am sure that these are diesel-fed....

Iyong mga gasoline-powered generators,- malamang hindi ito e10-compatible....

Isn't there a breaker on generators to protect it from current overload?...

i usually ask electrical people that question

baket hindi nag trip yung breaker when the customer overloaded the genset?

if the overload is not a sudden spike, the breaker doesnt trip

unlike pag short circuit, the breaker will trip agad

a constant near peak load or over-peak load that doesnt short circuit doesnt trip the breaker

it just puts a lot of stress on the dynamo and burns out the dynamo over time

Tanong ko lang yung mga open type na gas generators pwede ba ito lagyan ng silent mufflers? WILL this not affect the generators performance? Pansin ko kasi these type of generators doesnt have an exhaust muffler
