first thing above all= do not panic!!! alam mo nga first aid, you are equipt with basic knowlwdge of saving a person pero once nag panic ka, makakalimutan mu yan, mas matataranta ka rather than helping, 2nd kung di na marunong first aid and hindi ka panic, kelangan ng presence of mind, so kung di ka marunong, at home you may call, use cellphone, neighbor, etc go back to the basic muna, extend your hand and grasp within reach, you might have a car home sinakay mo nga di ka naman marunong drive...useless prolong idle time pa yun.

As with smooth's post, a physician's (or whoever happens to be at the scene) duty is to FIRST DO NO HARM.

Assess the environment. Is the victim in danger (nasa riles ng train, car about to explode etc.).

If there is no immediate environmental danger, check if the victim is conscious or not. Check vital signs. Always assume that there is spinal involvement. Immobilize the neck and back (using wooden splints, backboard, etc.).

If victim needs immediate CPR, you may have to move him despite not having proper spinal immobilization. A broken neck is preferred over a dead patient.

Start CPR as per wiretap's instruction. Bring victim to the nearest medical institution.

Do not do these things alone, always get help.

*Btw, de-fibrillation is not the first thing to do when someone flatlines. Sobrang sensationalized lang ng TV ang defibrillation. Nakakaasar kasi when we are doing CPR in the ER, sigaw ng sigaw ang relative: "kuryentihin niyo na, kuryentihin niyo na!!!"
