ok lang sana if its functional........ kung baga may purpose.....
kasi ang pera ang purpose talaga gastusin.....
pero kung gusto lang paliparin ihi para makasabay sa paligid eh you are not really buying for yourself..... you are pleasing your kind of audience
so matanong ko na din..... may nakakaalam ba dito saan makabili all glass steamer

Ako binibile ko lang lahat ng magpapayat sa kin or feeling ko lagi ako payat at minimalist
well just live within your means. it's really just that
but yes people are brand-conscious. like a few months ago i bought an almost new RockShox mountain bike fork for really cheap. it's a perfectly good suspension fork with all the features you need unless you're an elite athlete
but the guy sold it because he wanted a Fox, for no valid reason other than he likes to have a Fox. so he bought a mid-range Fox that's about the same level as the RockShox he sold.
so in the end he spent a lot more on a Fox fork that doesn't work any better than the Rockshox he sold![]()
Im actually somewhat guilty of being brand conscious.
My hiking gears are all branded as i prefer and trust them more due to them being rugged.
I rather spend more than be sorry down the road.
Agree. If I followed that mantra and bought all the little toys I've wanted over the years because they "didn't make me poorer", I'd end up without enough savings for a wedding and home amortization.
It's nice to indulge once in a while, but if you indulge for the short term all the time, you won't notice but you're cultivating a very expensive lifestyle.

It really depends on your buying power, buying know-how and intentions...
Some Filipinos are smart buyers. Thread title should include the word "some"
Been there bro, "small" purchases that sums up big. Sa HT ganun nangyari, budget was 50k MAX (kuno); ended up spending more or less 400k kaka upgrade.

This is a good example where a brand correlates to more important things like functionality, safety, durability and reliability.
Imho being brand conscious isn't bad per se. It actually suggests that Pinoys are in part quality conscious.
A brand is after all, a promise that carries with it expectations of certain level of quality.
It's just that with a lot of luxury brands, save for the prestige of ownership, you don't really get what you pay for.
Not privvy to a lot of luxury brands, but I imagine as you go up in price, the less value for money you get.
well, sakin coz medyo rough ako sa gumamit..i rather have the authentic ones than the knock offs...

TS might have had fashion and luxury in mind, when he opened this thread.
but "brand conscious" is not just fashion and luxury and sports.
in my line of profession, "branded" is literally a matter of life and death. "we can easily see the difference between "good" and "better". yes, we are very brand-conscious.
when we list down our requirements, we include the specs AND the brand.
addendum: i do not mean medicines. i mean, medical-related equipment.

I'm brand conscious when it comes to medicine. My mom and I argue about this a lot because she believes in generics and I don't. She wanted my dad to take generics and my brother and i tpld her "papatayin mo si daddy!" Hahaha. Even my Lola (daddy's mom) got mad at my Mom
