there are so many nursing students/new nursing grads that they actually have to PAY hospitals for OJT

    i'm not kidding

they pay hospitals to allow them to work for free. coz there are so many of them and not enough hospitals to absorb them

many nursing grads are now working as call center agents

In case na-post na ang mga ito, pasensiya na. Ang daming pages na kasi. Some terms not to use when in other countries or dealing w/ foreigners:

    1. "Rubber shoes" when you're referring to athletic shoes. Iisipin, sapatos na pang-ulan ang tinutukoy mo. Even better, be more specific w/ the type, i.e. "running shoes", "basketball shoes", "tennis shoes", etc.

    2. "Comfort room" when you need the toilet. You will get a puzzled look. Once in Australia, I asked for the "bathroom" in a restaurant. The waiter said, "Sorry mate. We don't have bathrooms, but we do have a toilet."

    3. "Polo shirt" when you mean "button down shirts." You will be offered T-shirt w/ collar, which is called "sport shirt" in SM.

    4. "I will pass by your place," kung meron kang susunduin. More accurate to say, "I will pick you up."

    5. "I will go ahead," when you actually mean you're leaving already or saying good bye.

I will go ahead is actually acceptable afaik since I've heard this being used in american movies although more appropriately what i remember is them saying, "we'll go on ahead then" while leaving some of there friends.

I frequently hear, "I will just xxxxxx."

I will just this. I will just that. I will just this and that....

e.g. I will just go to the toilet.
If you translate that literally into Tagalog --> "Punta lang ako sa CR."

    1. Sa mga Amerikano,- "tennis shoes" lahat...

    2. Baka sa kanila "WC" rin... (Kaya ako pag nagtanong "Where is the toilet?"... It works everytime)

Sirmam ang tawag sa lalake. Mamsir naman pag babae. Nadala narin ng mga Pinoy yung kaugalian na yan sa ibang bansa, lalo na sa Middle East.
