Does anyone know where I can have my frame repaired? I went to several optical shops already at the mall and they said that they can't repair it anymore. It's only screw issues that they can repair. My eyeglasses broke at the hinge ata.
Try P. Paterno, Quiapo that is the mecca of eye glasses.

flipo is right.
take a walking tour of that area.
despite the seeming simple-ness of the establishments there, a peek at their back rooms and you will be astonished at just how busy they are. i suspect, some of the name-brand opticals at the malls, outsource their jobs to these simple places.
your type of repair is usually a "while-you-wait" thing. few minutes only. and they charge shamefully cheap. last time i went there, years ago, the lady was even hesitant to charge me.
if the folks there can't fix your frame, nobody in the country, can.
good luck.

Has anyone experienced na pinalitan o ni-repair ng optical shop ang eyeglasses nila after nagka-defect in less than a few months?
I bought my frame and lenses last December 2020 from one optical shop. Now (4 months pa lang), nade-detach na yung metal part ng frame that holds the lens. I think it needs a strong adhesive or perhaps even solder para maibalik.
And since progressive itong lenses, it's either repair the frame o replace with the same frame.
Similar but not the same. Lens issue ang defect. Progressive as well. Somehow they couldn't get it right so they replaced twice in a span of 2 months.

It's a no-name but not really cheap half-rim metal frame with plastic temples.
Unfortunately, it's not a simple screw replacement doc. Yung metal frame nito kasi 3 parts that are stuck together. There's the main frame where the "eyebrow" and the hinges are connected to. Ang part na nagho-hold ng lens at nose pad is a separate metal frame na nakadikit (soldered or glued?) lang dun sa main frame. There's 1 such "sub frame" for each eye.
So siguro sa kaka-flex ng frame with daily wear and removal, bumigay na yung adhesive nung sub-frame sa left side. Nag-start pa lang sa corner but I'm sure it will only worsen over time.
No way would I have known na may design flaw itong frame. All I was concerned with was that the temples are plastic due to my allergy to metals in jewelry. To think that I've been more careful than usual with this pair.
dalhin nyo po sa optical.
i suspect, the solution is easier than we can imagine.
for allergy,
go titanium.
"hypoallergenic."
Hopefully you get them replaced. If not, change shops. Recently, about 6 months or so, I availed of Owndays' memory metal frames. It's the one that they demo na you can fold and twist and it springs back to shape. Been enjoying them.

They replaced the frame, no questions asked. Fortunately, they still had the same frame brand and model but in black (the one I had was gun metal). Their policy is 6-month warranty with one-time replacement. I hope this replacement is sturdier than the first.

the limiting factor in eyeglasses is the lens.
at times, the establishment has no stock of the required grades, and has to order them pa.
blessed are those with simple grades of their eyes.
the last time i had glasses made, because my old frame got broken,
i brought my old lenses; it took them a few minutes only, to grind them to size and install them in my new frames.
