All things are influenced by previous events, so things just don't happen.

February 8th, 2008 02:58 PM #22things happen because of previous events but it doesnt mean that there is a reason why these things happen.
It is a part of being a rational entity that we tend to find reasons for things, explainable or not, we wanted to find answers to whatever questions we have in mind. this is what separates humans from the rest of the creatures here on earth. animals, insects, etc exist because it is in their nature but humans needed to satisfy curiousity thus the search for reason for existing or for things that happens in his/her life

the reason: time's up for the poor guy
i have a friend who claims to see spirits and claims she can communicate with them (i guess everyone knows someone or knows someone who knows someone like that )
sabi nya the spirits play with lives.
Pag trip nila kunin ka, malas ka.
ganyan ganyan lang. No reason. Trip lang daw.
I asked her kung kelan nila ako kukunin.

yes, Sh*t Happens...
like most tsikoteers, "law of cause and effect."
if I put God in the picture...
God wanted Moses and his people delivered from Egypt... well nobody from Moses generation reached the promised land and we know why...
there are times that God is behind it. we can distinguish it. if it happened for his Glory and not ours.

Things just happen. Forget the reasons and don't think too much.
What's important is accepting things as they are and how well you can make do with the circumstances you were given.
Kumbaga sa poker there are some days you'll be dealt a bad hand. What you do with your lousy cards is what matters.

February 10th, 2008 04:58 AM #29I agree with the second sentence. Assuming God is the end-all and be-all of existence, who is to say that it's not in his way to act through randomness? Then again if His reasoning is unfathomable to us mere mortals, why try to fathom it? The 'reason' for an event which happens may not be the real reason it happened in the first place!
