    Ghosts per se are nonexistent.

What we have are "evil spirits" that are trying to pass themselves off as dead people (by mimicking them), monsters (probably by possessing animals & even people) and what have you. In the NT, Jesus and the other Apostoles were constantly driving out evil spirits out of people.
Actually, the banned portions of the Scriptures were not really teaching or encouraging people to practice witchcraft, how to contact the dead, and any methods of sorcery. They are just plain narrations of "events" and "concepts" which the Vatican found to be too disturbing for people to know.

It is like yanking out the story about the "Rape of Nanking" or narrations about the "Holocaust" from the history books because "authorities" fear that reading about Adolf Hitler might encourage people to become ruthless dictators and murderers.

So I think if a person wants to learn more about ghosts, spirits, and the supernatural, and how those things are "connected" with their religion, they have to read beyond the Bible and examine the unaltered historical manuscripts and writings that abound.

As derivative thoughts based also on the posts of Dr Doom, Psalm and Mazdamazda, there could be more reason to be afraid of "ghosts," M54. Anything you see as resembling ghosts are not really ghosts but the devil or his subalterns taking on the resemblance of your dead relatives. Those unexplained shadows creeping on the walls and those darkness fleeting somewhere out of the corners of your eyes were demonic in nature. Yay, eheheh!

Those who might be curious to read the Book of Enoch, a word of warning. Besides the potential for confusion, you might discover that you have a namesake among the fallen angels... as I found out too late! buhuhuu.... Those of you who were named after saints, ang swerte nyo!

I think that the most effective weapon against the fear of ghosts, and for that matter for all that is evil, is just love. I know it's easier said than done. It's hard enough calming yourself when your adrenaline is in full swing after you saw that white lady in the corridor without having to think about love. But since this is the subject of the two greatest commandment, I believe it's all that really matters.

Evil has no visual form. Evil is a concept which is the opposite of what is good and what is right. In order to teach their siblings and the future generation about abhorring evil, our ancestors painted "ugly" visuals about the various forms of evil so that people will get scared about doing evil. So now you have goblins, witches, vampires, white ladies, ghosts, zombies, tiyanaks, and kapres. We are scared about ghosts because our brain has been pre-programmed before that ghosts "look scary". Everything you see that is "scary" is just a product of your imagination.

LUCIFER is a beautiful being. Perhaps the most beautiful being ever created by God. And yet, Lucifer is evil. The DEVIL does not want to scare people. In fact, the DEVIL wants to attract people so that it will have more company away from God.

Why will the devil try to scare you? Try to analyze the logic behind it. The devil wants to make friends with you. The Devil offers you LUST when tsikoteers discuss about Diana Zubiri or the hot mamas; the Devil offers you HATE when tsikoteers discuss about Toyota's In-House Financing scheme on the Fortuner; the Devil offers you VENGEANCE when tsikoteers discuss about carjackings or someone's car getting sideswiped by a jeepney.

So you see, you have been encountering the Devil all this time even here in this very forum, but you have not realized it at all. In fact, you were never scared of it!

Those you "claim" to be "ghosts" or supernatural events, are just natural phenomena that always have a plausible cause-and-effect explanation. You are scared because your brain could not analyze the cause-and-effect behind it. And that doesn't make it evil.

Imagine this, you are driving home by yourself late at night. The avenue is deserted as you look at the few cars tailing far back through your rear view mirror. When you look at your rear view mirror again, merong pari na nakaupo sa likod ng upuan mo...

I believe this is not the right thread for this but just to answer your question; the word "inspired" means holy and good, God-breathed. Hence, the authors of such books about supernatural beings, and so on and so forth were not really "inspired" by the Holy Spirit, but just accounts or events that happened during their time. This is the reason why the early Christians did not include these books to the Bible as we know it today because they believe that these are not "inspired". Now if you're refering to different Bible versions or translations, that's another story.

Now you may ask; who are they to judge whether these are "inspired" or not; I'm not an authority on this but this is my personal answer:
    Proverbs 19:20-21
"Listen to advice and accept instruction and in the end you will be wise. Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
    - What is His purpose? For us to live and walk in this life like Jesus did.

2 Timothy 3:16"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,"
    - in righteousness, not to be informed about ungodly beings

here's another ghost story na madami naka-exp daw. dami na nagkwento nito although never ko pa na-experience.

pag-attend ka daw ng night event/wedding/party dyan sa Coconut Palace Swimming Pool, never look up sa mga veranda/windows ng Coconut Palace. For sure may makikita daw kayo. btw, off-limits ang 2nd floor ng coconut palace.

and ghosts of these type (Coconut Palace Ghost), eh tipong sumasama sa inyo pauwi
daw.

I guess if people wanted to know whether ghosts, spirits, and the supernatural are real, they should not look at any Biblical references for proof since anything about or related to the Bible are indeed subject to individual interpretations and beliefs that will be impossible to resolve.

I heard stories na sumusunod ang mga aswangs sa mga favored people nila. I grew up in Negros and have heard of a lot of stories like this. I experienced a few and I am thinking which to share here.

The maid of my friend who is already quite old and can easily see the aswangs told me that aswangs have favorites and they follow them wherever they go, even if they move houses. However they will have a hard time to follow if the house you move to crosses bridges. But you if bring a momento with you like old pictures or something that came from the aswang, they can follow you whereever you go.

    Here is one:

When I was in my early teens, we were living in a remote barrio / municipality in Negros Occidental where they say that there were a lot of aswangs. The compound where we lived, they said was an old japanese graveyard or old hospitals where a lot of patients die, but then this can just be a "kwento-kwento" of the oldies.
Anyway, the house that we lived were infested with these special beings. We once brought our labandera from Bacolod to this house. She was supposed to see these beings. When she arrived in our house, she said that she saw a lot of dwendes in the house. Diffferent colors pa nga. There were white (good ones), black (bad ones) and even brown ones (in-between ata). And it seems that they like to play jokes on my mom. Since we go to school in Bacolod in a dorm, it is just my dad, mom and my uncle who lives in this house during weekdays. My mom always hears voices in the house. Some of them even copy our voices. She would hear the voice say, "We're home" as if we just arrive but when my mom checks the sala, nobody is there. Also, in the kitchen, someone always sut-suts (sorry I can't think of the english term for this right now) to her while she is washing the dishes. The sound comes from outside the house and my mom just ignores all these.

Now my kwento, I have always suspected that my uncle are friends with this beings. I never confirm this but he seems to be mysterious. Anyone, one summer evening as I was playing in the sala, I sensed that there was a being with me inside the house. Being a teen and naive, I was not afraid and just thought of as such. Mind you, I am not very brave and I get scared also but on that particular incident, I was not afraid.

I was alone in the sala that time and surprisingly (I could not remember why), I decided to trap the being by closing the back door of our house which leads to the dirty kitchen and the spooky garden and trees at the back of our house. I ran very fast to the back to immediately close the door. As I locked this door, I suddenly heard banging sounds on the door as if this thing wanted to go out of the door. I did not see anything but just banging sounds. Again, I don't why I did this. I did not recall seing anything but just felt that there was something with me. So anyway, while the banging ensued, my uncle went out of his room and went to the kitchen, where I was, and opened the back door and closed it immediately. It was as if he let the being out. My uncle then went back to his room and back to sleep, I guess.

Everything happened as if it was a normal occurence. I did not get scared, I did not see the being. I just felt all these but it seems that it was true because I heard the banging noise and my uncle let go of the being. I never discussed this with my uncle but this confirmed my suspicion about him.

I have other stories but I will share them later.
