I was thinking the same thing when I saw the top item... very oooooold myth.

GOLF is not an acronym... it's old Welsh or Scottish... besides, do you think people back in those days were as addicted to ridiculous acronyms as modern people are? That one is about as ridiculous as the supposed origin of the word F***... supposedly Fornication Under Consent of King... another untrue rumor.
