As for the TGP head, I'm not fond of that guy either but i cannot comment much since i have not encountered him personally nor do i follow his writings, however from his day 1 in TGP I already saw some negative vibes in his writing style.
RE: JD, same here, I used to buy both C! and TGP and during JD's time I found that I enjoyed reading C! more. But today there's no comparison. ************ is worth mentioning too. The reviews feel like they are from the point of view of a potential buyer. And Uly isn't squeamish when it comes to writing about the negatives.

It's hard to change your spots I suppose. Still, I don't think TGP should suffer for what a single person did. I wonder if the issue will affect sales or advertising revenue.

TGP still perpetuated the misinformation and due to exposure to its much wider audience probably did a lot more damage than the other sites. Not having a case against you prosper is one thing, but repairing the damage caused and being a responsible, decent person is another. Kudos to VBS for owning up to it, but a lot more should be done on his part. I realize the parties might be in the negotiation stage, but I am really curious at what steps VBS will do to make up for this.

Are you sure you would want Niky as EIC? Magiging car of the year forever ang Crosswind and Ford Lynx.

I dont trust media outlets who provoke other people to get angry with another group.
That is irresponsible journalism. The least they could do is filter the comments section, but they wouldn't do that, coz the comments itself are shared to the commentstors friends. That's how FB works, and they know it

TGPh is also the one with the ability to pay (i.e. the one with money). That's how these lawsuits work.

No one would care to file a case against the tricycle driver even if said driver is guilty in a traffic accident. Waste of time. But everyone would want to file a case against the Benz owner, even though Benz owner is NOT guilty. Baka mapressure at makipagareglo.

I subscribe to your view about ************. I like this guy Ulyses Ang. I read his reviews. He is not the kind who sugarcoats nor minces words on the negatives.

Yes, Niky, you're the man. I like your coiffure as much as your writing style.

^ also agree for carguide. Minsan bugbog sarado sa sa negative comment ang isang car. Haha. Pero kung yun naman talaga, tama lang. Kabaligtaran naman ng autoindustriya. Lahat ng comments sa review napakaganda

No way could I be an EIC.

I mean, I do have the capacity to vet content and correct issues in articles, as well as to plan the tone and content for monthly issues...

But I just don't have the patience for politics. Diyan magaling si VBS... (moreso than some others)... he allows us to be neutral... to post negative reviews or to have negative aspects to some reviews... while still keeping the manufacturers and advertisers happy. Not an easy balancing act.

    Be an interesting job, though.

And my car of the year would always be the Jimny.

    ----

Uly Ang is a downright pest on Facebook. I post a blurry picture of a sliver of bodywork... or even just the outline of a side mirror... and he's in the comment thread right away with the brand, model and variant of what I'm driving. Hehehe.

He's one of us, talaga. A car enthusiast of the first order... but one who just happens to be a writer.

He did motioncars for a long time... it was once THE Philippine motoring website, with the best new car guide around, and stuff like this:

    motioncars.com | Features | Factory Tuned Perfection

...actually encouraged me to start writing back in the day. ;)

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

We all have our biases naman talaga. At least Niky is upfront about it. Di ko na lang seseryosohin pag nagsulat na about Isuzu and Ford

Hehe. I still keep a bookmark of Autoindustriya. Just in case Tsikot, ************ and TGP go down simultaneously I'll still have some toilet reading.

That Lynx again... I take it all back. Any chance of you getting rid of the RS?

Hey, I always tell the truth. The people from Isuzu liked my Alterra review. Didn't skimp words describing its drawbacks, pero positive pa rin. - I'm a glass half-full kinda guy.

Not worth getting rid of. Already have sources for parts. Just need to build up money again.

They should also get you for one of those San Mig Zero commercials.

I just don't get it, why keep 2 Lynx's? I like loving older cars long time too like the Navara but at some point I know I'll have to sell it and move on.

Flood damaged one is worthless to sell. I'm considering parting it out or restoring. Neither is appealing at the moment, but I wager I've got at least sixty k worth of mods and parts that people will want to buy.

well, the editor concerned has resigned.

i haven't seen that smb scene. what did deakin do in it?

youtube doc, used to drink that zero stuff, there is still calories due to the alcohol, plus with less buzz youll still drink more to reach that happy feeling.

    Exactly.

You can still enjoy a beer and not be a drunk driver.

    -

As for TGP: VBS was the one who was gung ho for journalist style coverage of road issues.

There is no new EIC yet, but when things are finalized, more "current events" type coverage may make a return.

mahirap nga yang drunk dialing, baka si crush ma dial mo pag lasing ka at magtapat ka bigla.
