When the American bases were here, hindi makalapit yung mga Chinese.

Now they are 100 miles off Subic Bay, wala tayo magawa.

    Hanggang diplomatic protest na lang.

Pinaalis pa kasi mga kano eh, eh di sana state tayo ng US ngayon. kasama sana tayo sa isang STAR dun sa flag nila hahaha!

sabi nga ni Pres M. Quezon ""I would rather have a country run like hell by Filipinos than a country run like heaven by the Americans, because however bad a Filipino government might be, we can always change it."

Well, its not like the PH can do a lot given its limited defensive capabilities. I mean, what do citizens expect the soldiers and enlisted navy personnel to use against a more modern naval ship? Harsh language?

"Resolving the conflict thru diplomacy" will not be quick or easy since there are a lot of interests (most of them economic) tied to China by other countries who can intervene in our behalf.

It's looking more like token resistance and saber rattling on the part of the PH since the BRP Gregorio del Pilar was ordered to withdraw from Scarborough Shoal.

I have serious doubts if the government will allow this territorial dispute to escalate into a shooting war with China since there's not much capability to defend our waters anyway.
