pag gising ko bakit bigla pumasok sa isip ko yung kanta sa school elementary
"moshi moshi ano-ne, ano-ne ano-ne.
moshi moshi ano-ne my frist lady"
^
the family computer days, summertime. walang kain-kain walang ligo-ligo. Pag gising ng 9am eh naunahan pala ako ng kapatid ko at biglang sinabi sa akin "Ako nauna ah "
but i dreaded waking up at 6am pag may pasok. Nakakainis.
alas!
our kitchen is not "dirty".
doggie has recently learned to beg to be allowed in, where he makes bantay in the kitchen, waiting for hand-outs from our all-around.
we're in the process of teaching him that the food distribution centre is outside the door,
but there are so many violators and sabotagers to this new training objective.
so,
how many of today's architectural and design wonders,
have a dirty kitchen?
question: what's the difference between a dirty kitchen and a batalan?
answer: walang masyadong concreto ang batalan.
according to my relative na arquitecto.
heh heh.
my titas.
they did not have to buy fuel for cooking.
most of their cooking was out in the dirty kitchen, using trimmed parts of trees.
masarap yung luto nila, may "tangy taste of smoke".
yung LPG tank,
kinakalawang na at madumi from age, when they go for re-fill.

real, primary-design dirty kitchens are a luxury.
they eat up valuable space in non-luxury housing designs.
what many household dwellers do,
is convert some space into a dirty kitchen.
common conversions include the garage and the laundry area.
tanong ng innocent young niece,
"tita, how do you know the pig is dead...?"
medyo pagod na si tita, who answered, "pa-andarin ko lang yang owner jeep namin, in ten minutes, patay na si pig."

yung dirty kitchen where tita was doing the chopping, was in their garage. carbon monoxide poisoning from a running car engine.
larger houses, i.e., yung may non-budget sqm and where three people can use the bathroom all at the same time without elbowing each other, can have the luxury of having a real, dirty kitchen.
ikaw kasi, hindi ka bumibisita sa mas humble dwellings...
heh heh.
well some houses only have that kitchen (the dirty one) and doesn't have the "clean" one, i guess? haha
I think my parents' house originally had an integrated kitchen/dining area, but the designated laundry area became the dirty kitchen since the washing machine got upgraded
