Was like that myself as I really, really HATED the school I was in, not to mention the bunch of deplorables I had the misfortune of calling my section mates.

they're digging themselves into a hole they won't be be able to get out of. what has to be done, is to stop him from digging, and/or throw him a rope and hope he uses it to get out.

the decision to suicide is an interaction between what's in the genes, and the rest of the society we move in.
    certainly, it is preventable.

In my uncle's side of the family there were suicides in all generations. I even met two One was my age and hanged himself. The other was my Uncle's cousin and jumped off a building. Their family also has a history of mental illness and homo***uality

BTW I heard about medicines that trigger suicidal thoughts.

Montelukast din ata which I take for allergies does that.

as of yesterday they are still investigating if its a suicide, apparently there are witnesses who said they heard people loudly arguing at the 20th floor staircase moments before the incident.

according to my son there will be a mass to be held at the 20th floor multi purpose hall at 3 pm today.

Just last year, our neighbor's youngest daughter hanged herself due to a petty argument with her mom the night before the incident. It was the youngest son who discovered her body inside a closet.

It was really sad because the dad was working as an OFW and she was his favorite among the siblings. It was so sad as we could feel that family and friends were talking about how the mom could have pushed the daughter to do it. What was unknown at that time was that the daughter had a history of depression.

We need to be more kind to each other. Nowadays it seems everyone is just concerned about themselves. Everyday life has just become so toxic. Positive behavior rubs off just as well as the negative stuff. That's why I try to be kind to everyone I meet.

Yup. I think the age of Internet made people nastier in the sense that they say things they usually don't when face to face with another person.

Anonymity can make you bolder than you usually are.

imho, in some cases social media has become a place for people to project their anger/frustrations...at times, on issues that have nothing to do with their problems. They can not or will not deal with their problems, so they just take it out on strangers on the internet.

Lord knows we'd all be better off being kinder to each other, but people can be real *$ses sometimes.

Ongoing rally at US embassy by the Lumads. Roxas SB has been "barricaded", no idea if traffic is flowing

People looking for trouble usually find it, one way or the other. Itong mga kaliwa ginagamit ang mga IPs para sa katarantaduhan nila!

True. They use it as a form of stress release. There are healthier ways to do it though. I think a lot of it has to do with not having enough physical activity and/or personal interaction with other people.

I've seen that too. People one-upping one another, trying to prove he's smarter/better. Thing is, they won't feel better. Doing so just makes you more angry and bitter. These types aren't the most mature or fulfilled.

I still offer my seat to older people and open doors for others even if they go past even without a thank you. I try to give way in traffic whenever I can. You can't underestimate the power of kindness. It is not as infectious as hate but it sure is fulfilling when you see it rub off other people.

Offering a seat can be tricky though...sometimes i can't tell if a lady is pregnant or hefty, tarayan ka pa minsan

Unless i have a lot of stuff, whenever there's a pregnant lady, senior, with children, or otherwise similarly disabled, pinapaupo ko, even if it means i get pushed further down the back of the bus.

Pansin ko lang, parang hindi "uso" dito sa atin for people to give up designated seats for disabled/seniors/etc....more of ignorance rather than apathy imho.

i've been cleaning up my table whenever i eat at foodcourts or fast food outlets, partly to make the servers' job a little easier, partly also as respect to other people who will eat. i hope it catches on

^ Personally, i would only do that if there's someone who has a physical impediment of any sort -- pregnant, missing a leg, physically weak, etc. Otherwise, if there's physically nothing wrong with you, my attitude is, pareho lang yung binabayaran nating pamasahe, why is your butt worth more than mine?

Even if tarayan it shouldn't matter. I notice if I do it napapahiya yung iba, gumagaya na rin magbigay. Yung iba naman nakakatulog sa pwesto bigla. Worst I experienced was giving my seat to a woman who declined. Siguro malapit na yung stop nya. Inupuan ng bading, nag dekwatro tapos tiningnan ako ng malandi. Pero ok lang, natawa din naman ako ng konti.

Right on bro. I clean up my table too.
