i wonder what the reason was.
some time back, the Priest during the homily, told this story about suicides.
...majority of their efforts succeeded.. they died.
but to the minority who survived, almost all the survivors said the same thing.. during the "free fall", it became clear in their minds that, whatever their reasons, the reasons were not worth dying for.

It would be disrespectful to speculate what problems the student had...imho, good communication and support within the family and circle of friends is key to preventing this. The simple act of talking to other people, even about the most mundane of topics, can do wonders for your mood and outlook in life.

i remember back in college, i was in a foul mood for most of my first two years. Hindi naman ako suicidal , masungit lang, but the counselor took note of my disposition, kinausap ako agad, "OK ka lang ba?" It was a little embarrassing but i commend that guy now for keeping a sharp eye.
