    But the US didnt get to where it is today without burning coal, cutting down trees and poisoning rivers and all that.

    The newly industrializing countries like China and India are going thru the same process. They are polluting land, water and air right now. So did the US or Britain or France or Germany or Japan when they were still developing.

    It just so happened there werent any tree-hugging enviromentalists around at that time to bother them.

    Now that these mature and aging economies realize the damage they did to the planet, they want developing countries to adopt strict environmental policies... which can slow down their growth.

    Nakaraos na sila. Pano naman ung mga di pa nakakaraos?

    Im not a tree-hugger. I actually dislike those Greenpeace activists.

    They are quite loud here in the Phils... they get a lot of media attention... harrassing importers and mining firms and being a total pain in the a$$ to many businesses.
