I never figured out why some have to insist on paying cash always. It's a big risk when you have to buy high price items. Just use a CC and settle it when you're billed. Even at my work place, we don't encourage people to settle in cash as they expose us to a high risk of cash loss/theft/robbery. A credit card is a finance tool if you manage it properly and settle at the end of the month. The discounts and rebates on items such as gasoline are quite helpful too.
Eto, another former office mate (single, no family to support) messaged us that he's selling some stuff from his "collection" to help pay off debts. Bumili ba naman ng Mirage at nag travel... When i would meet up with him and some former colleagues, they always talked about their expensive watches and stuff while i just kept myself happy with my Casio. Ayun, sakit tuloy ng ulo niya ngayon.
I also have another former colleague who was deep in credit card debt but kept buying branded whatevers (useless phones, watches, etc) because he had to keep up with the Joneses where he worked. Payabangan kasi yung culture (but honestly, from how i know that company since i deal with them and used to be in the same field, medyo bulok naman sila). When he got married, he invited all those from his current job even though he hated them, just to show off i guess. While some friends whom he grew up with, went to school with, and started out working with and may pinagsamahan kahit papaano, di-invited (myself included). Talk about misplaced priorities
